Hi all, A friend of mine gives me a copy of Centos5 DVD. I then make an iso of it using dd if=/dev/cdrom of=centos5.iso command. I then check it using sha1sum. But the result is different than of listed in Centos website. Should it the same? Or we simply cannot compare sha1sum from burned DVD to that of 'unburned' iso file? Just a quick question. Back in October (26th) after downloading llvm-2.6.tar.gz, I did a sha1sum of the file and got; 67f4bace9e64cc39255583aa837470d9b9de0aa5 Today I downloaded the same file and got a sha1sum of; 547471147cbf6d3e49539e01196ffada2c79c250 While it might be possible the error is on my end. Was the tarball changed since its release and the version number not changed? Thanks

Hello all, newbie at linux. have installed Wine 1.1.17 and trying to use Winetricks to install the windows components to use with autoCAD 2006. When winetricks gets to the part where it connects to M/soft, it times out while waiting for a connection. Is there a solution to this or just keep trying? Cheers and TIA

Hi, I had downloaded CentOS 5.1 x86 DVD image, and although it passed sha1sum or md5sum test and I burned it verifying it, installation failed. Also if I recall correctly, when I tested the medium during install, it failed although as I said the media was verified. ==> The same things happen with Scientific Linux 5.1 x86 installation DVD, so perhaps it is a Red Hat EL 5.1 x86 DVD issue?
