Connecting to dovecot
Hi All,
I've got a brand new dovecot installation. I'm new to dovecot, so please be gentle :-)
Anyway,
I'm getting some errors when I try to connect to dovecot. I've tried
searching the web and haven't been able to find a lot of information.
Here's the config info:
# dovecot --version
1.1.2
# dovecot -n
sudo dovecot -n
# 1.1.2: /usr/local/etc/dovecot.conf

Network and default route
I have had this problem on and off since RedHat 6, and I always worked through
it, but I thought I would ask.
When you have multiple network interfaces, how does the system determine the
default route?
Or is it the first, (or last) interface that comes up?
On the problem systems I have to add a "route add default..." statement in
some systems in the rc.local to get them to work right.

6TB SCSI RAID vs. Centos
I have an Infortrend RAID box I'd like to see as one big 6TB partition,
but I only can get 2.2TB partitions to work. I was trying to do this
with an Adaptec controller but apparently they are only (any of them) 48
bits wide. Does anybody have a working system for SCSI/Centos over
2.2TB?

mapserver experience?
I have Centos 5.2 and want to install mapserver. On my Fedora 7 box it is in
the repo. Should I just enable that repo? Anyone done this? Tips/warnings?

Keyboard problems on Centos 5.4
I installed CentOS 5.4on a WMWare Server virtual machine that's
running on win7. Everything seems to work fine except I get a shit load
of error messages from the console along the lines of when I type on the
keyboard:
atkbd.c Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0x81 on
isa0060/serio0).
atkbd.c Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0x81 on isa0060/serio0).

Just a question about the Announce List
Did the Announce go out for CentOS 5.6, or are people just jumping the gun?
If it went out, I missed it, and need to look at my spam filters.
If it hasn't gone out yet, then maybe I'm OK...
See... No "is it ready" crap in here!

Need help with an odd issue I am experiencing
I have a server with dual nic's running centos 5.2 1 nic connects to the
cable modem, which has 15m d and 2m up, but speed tests barely come back
at 5mb down including road runner's internal speed test. I hook up my
laptop to the same modem, same port, using the same cable and I get 17mb
down. I have ruled out iptables, nics (because same result on both
nics), cables, cable modem(with

SIze of reformatted USB drive
I just reformatted an 8Gb USB drive as ext3.
While as FAT32, it was reported as having well over 7Gb free (did not
note the exact capacity).
I reformatted with mkfs.ext3 /dev/sda1
Now it is reported (oh, this is with properties in Nautilus) as having
6.8Gb capacity (free space actually).
Does this makes sense that ext3 has less available space than fat32?

shared Sent and Junk folders
Hi,
For some odd reason, two of my users share the same Sent and Junk
folders, therefore I keep getting errors about Sent folder reading
permissions and one user reading the other user's Junk folder. What can
I do about this odd problem?

ntp time server
Currently, my time server is a Sun v240 with a 32-pci gps card (with a
proprietary Solaris driver) attached to our gps receiver via an sma
cable up to the roof of my building. As I'm migrating almost all of
our Solaris servers and services over to CentOS, I'd like to know what
other people are using for time server hardware. Any suggestions?

stock openjdk vs. epel
If you have the epel repo installed and enabled during a yum update, you
get java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0-1.0.b12.el5.2 instead of the stock .b09
version. Is this intentional and desirable? I thought epel generally
did not replace stock components with newer versions.

[resend] USB drive fails at sector 0xFFFFFFF
I'm backing up to a NTFS partition on an external USB drive with dump. I'm
seeing failures in /var/log/messages reading sector 0xFFFFFFF that cause
the verify pass to fail. Are there any known problems in the USB driver?
