question about the dataset fgl
...; The dataset seems to be in the "VR" package, so I tried to download it from CRAN. However, after downloading, when I tried to load the package, it was not in my package list. I am wondering what is wrong. Any advice on how to access the fgl dataset would be appreciated. Thanks. Seungho Huh [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Kernel Fisher Discriminant in R?
Dear members, I am wondering if there are any functions to perform the Kernel Fisher Discriminant method, especially for multi-class problems, in R. I would appreciate any kind of information on this. Thanks for your time. Seungho Huh, Ph.D. Research Statistician RTI International North Carolina, USA [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

how to obtain predicted labels for test data using "kerne lpls"
...when given classification data. You might want to look at the `gpls' package, which started out as part of BioConductor, then was made available on CRAN, but now seem to have move back to BioConductor. It treats classification problems in a more `natural' way. HTH, Andy > From: Huh, Seungho > > Dear members, > > My name is Seungho Huh. [Fwd: Re: Kernel Fisher Discriminant in R?]
...You could us the kernlab package as a building block. Implementation of Kernel Fisher Discriminant Analysis (or Generalized Fisher Discriminant Analysis) formulation are fairly straightforward and should be difficult. how to obtain predicted labels for test data using "kernelpls"
Dear members, My name is Seungho Huh. I am a statistician who tries to use the Kernel PLS method in a classification problem. I am sending this email to ask you something about the "kernelpls" function in R (pls.pcr package). I would like to obtain the predicted Y values for test data, using the Kernel PLS method. Le...

LASSO coefficients for a specific s
...ion") Can I assign automatically the best s value to predict.lars which is given by the CV process (cv.lars)? Or, do I need to manually find the s value that gives the minimum cv value from cv.lars, and assign it as the s value in predict.lars? I would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks, Seungho Huh

have difficulty in installing packages
Dear sir or ma'am, I have difficulty in installing packages. When I click "Install package(s)..." in the Packages menu, it takes forever and it finally shows the following message: --- Please select a CRAN mirror for use in this session --- Warning: unable to access index for repository http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/languages/R/CRAN/bin/windows/contrib/2.2 Warning: unable to access
