...share as recommended with the following command chgrp "Domain Admins" /home/demo When I try the chgrp command I receive and error : invalid group "Domain Admins'. I then read the article that explain the subject about setting up rfc2307 in AD https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_RFC2307_in_AD#NIS_Extensions_installed_inside_the_directory and can confirm that the "ypServ30" container exists. I wonder what is happening and if anyone could help me. Thank you for reading and helping Regards Jules HOUANTONON *Phone* : (00229) 97578914 *Email *: juleshoueto at gmail.com *Skype*...

Hello, after stumbling in almost every thread, that it makes sense to have RFC2307 enabled, I wanted to switch an AD DC to it and follwed this wiki page https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_RFC2307_in_AD When I try to import the modified ldif file, I get an error message: ERR: (Entry already exists) "Entry CN=ypServ30,CN=RpcServices,CN=System,DC=ad,DC=url,DC=de already exists" on DN CN=ypServ30,CN=RpcServices,CN=System,DC=ad,DC=url,DC=de at block before line 5 Modify failed after process...

Problem with Active Directory authentication
...override that globally with the "template shell = > /bin/bash" option in smb.conf, which enables it globally for all Active > Directory users (probably not desired). Using RFC2307 you can give each user its own shell and home directory. Read here: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_RFC2307_in_AD

idmap config ad: can't resolve domain users' uids
...er I have put in the AD directory. Domanin Users have been exported from a samba3-ldap domain. In a samba3-ldap domain the trick to have files with the same ownership [1] was to record the uidNumber data in the OpenLDAP. How does it work in samba4? I started with https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_RFC2307_in_AD and then I have been populating the users' uidNumber ad attribute and the groups' gidNumber. So I was wrong starting talking about sssd, nss and so on. Those tools are required to allow Domain Users to access linux server (ssh for instance). I am more interested to deploy windows share on...

Here: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_RFC2307_in_AD You have to have the schema in the Active Directory Schema. So you either have to add it to a Samba AD Schema or the Windows AD Schema. I used the windows tool LDIFDE to import the schema to the Windows AD Schema. Otherwise there is no schema for the Unix Attributes. From my reading about Unix...
