[LLVMdev] Multiple definitions of _floor_log2
I am trying to build the llvm-gcc frontend. I think I have followed the
directions correctly.
I am using cygwin on XP SP2 (uname -a reports: CYGWIN_NT-5.1 pad7
1.5.25(0.156/4/2) 2007-12-14 19:21 i686 Cygwin)
gcc --version reports: gcc (GCC) 3.4.4 (cygming special, gdc 0.12, using
dmd 0.125)
Since there is no binary for llvm-gcc I am following the directions in
the tar file for the 4.2 version.

Rmagick not handling GIF files properly...
Tracked down the source of my problem...
It seems that Rmagick isn''t properly cropping/resizing GIF or PNG images
when uploaded via file_column. I can upload JPG files just fine.
Originally I had installed ImageMagick via Debian''s apt-get and built the
rmagick gem using "gem install rmagick". This wasn''t working so I
uninstalled ImageMagick and tried to

Possible bug in base::namespaceImportFrom?
Hi,
namespaceImportFrom in base/R/namespace.R has the following:
fdef <- methods:::getGeneric(genName, impenv)
The definition of getGeneric is in methods/R/RMethodUtils.R starts
with:
getGeneric <-
## return the definition of the function named f as a generic.
##
## If there is no definition, throws an error or returns
## NULL according to the value of

A possible improvement to apropos
Hello all,
I've had the following apropos alternative in my ~/.Rprofile for some
time, and have found it more useful than the current version.
Basically, my version ignores case when searching.
If others find this useful, perhaps apropos could be suitably patched
(and I'd be willing to create such a patch).

Here is my version of apropos:

Validation issues
I have a form. Everything submits into the database if I don''t have any
validation rules. When I put these rules:
validates_uniqueness_of :title, :message => "already exists in
database"
validates_presence_of :title
I get this error (which seems weird because I am not validating against
that):
You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it!

PATCH: Add fields argument to installed.packages and available.packages
Hi all,
The write_PACKAGES function has a 'fields' argument that allows a user
generating a PACKAGES file to specify additional fields to include.
For symmetry, it would be nice for the available.packages function to
be able to read those extra fields when specified.
Similarly, it would be useful for installed.packages to have a
'fields' argument. This would allow a user to

RoR, Apache 2, FastCGI
I have everything working and I am really excited about learning Ruby
and Rails. But whenever I access my different defs in my controller it
takes ~ 5 seconds before they are returned. I am working locally so I
don''t know what the issue is.
System Details:
Windows XP
Apache 2.0.55
Ruby 1.8.2

Add .git to SCM excludes for build and INSTALL scripts
Git is a source code management system like CVS, svn, arch, and
others.
It would be nice to add exclude support to R CMD build and INSTALL so
that the .git subdir of an R package is handled appropriately.
Here is a possible patch:
diff --git a/src/scripts/INSTALL.in b/src/scripts/INSTALL.in
index 75da9db..09e5ab5 100644
--- a/src/scripts/INSTALL.in
+++ b/src/scripts/INSTALL.in

Get ID after save
This is simple (I am sure) but how do you get the id of the inserted
element after the element has been save?
I thought it was something like this:
@product = Product.new(params[:product]
if @product.save
add_image(product.id, params["image"])
flash[:notice] = ''Product was successfully created.''
redirect_to :action => ''list_products''
end

STI and HABTM
Hey gang,
How does STI work with HABTM?
For instance...let''s say I have the following models
-----
Category < ActiveRecord::Base
Item < ActiveRecord::Base
Product < Item
Deal < Item
-----
Each product or deal can have categories. Would I then setup Item with
has_and_belongs_to_many :categories, then create a table categories_items
??? Is there a better way to do it?

Using a group variable for a groupofextension to dial
Actually doing both sounds good to me. Can you explain further about
ringing them all at once?
Here is how I tried to make mine work and failed...
{global}

PHONES1=SIP/2001
[local]
exten => 6001,1,Dial(${PHONES0&PHONES1),20,trf)
When I dial 6001 I see my debugger tell me that I am using the wrong
syntax.
Do you know the correct syntax for ringing them all at once?

ACLSystem and session variables
I am using the ACL System that is described on the Rails wiki and I have
a quick question. I want to set the "role" as a session variable so
that I can display certain navigation schemes and I was doing it like
this:
@session[:user][:role] = @user.roles
When I print out this variable I get:
#<Role:0x3262d80>
How can I turn this into a readable value? I tried .to_i
