No RTP from asterisk?
...s, like trying to negotiate G729 when it's not
capable, but since then, I've changed everything back to G711.
I have connected to it, a SIP trunk, 3 registered users and I'm at a loss as
to how to troubleshoot this further.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Apache 2.2 under CentOS?
...Was it tried and found
that there are significant
obstacles in the way of getting 2.2 to run under CentOS 4.4? Is there a
port of 2.2 planned
for 5.0? Is it a question of resources, and should we undertake it, do
you guys want the
resulting i686 RPM's?
Comment Karanbir?

Problems with nss_ldap - where to start?
...ally connects me to it.
I've run authconfig, /etc/sysconfig/authconfig agrees.
I'm at a complete and utter loss. I've followed every how-to out there, RH,
Openldap, Debian, FreeBSD I can verify ldap is working, I can't seem to get
any PAM applications to use it.

Dual Heads?
...#39;m trying to get it to configure as 'spanning desktops', so I just have
twice as
much real estate, and ideally can drag in between.
Anyone have suggestions? Also, in general, the wm is pretty bland, so
suggestions
to make it a little more fun would be good too.

CentOS 4.4 Strange hang on a poweredge 2900.
...eat. 'dmesg | grep eth0' locks up
the session.
This is relatively frustrating. Googling doesn't seem to net any real
results, and
I can't seem to find anything relevant in the logs.
One more relevant bit to add, this behavior does not exist from the console.

Trying to get xen to boot off of an iso or a sysresc image so I can expand a filesystem to the extent of the LVM's free space.
...titions:
/dev/VolGroup00/vm01p1
/dev/VolGroup00/vm01p2
p2 is about 50GB, I gave it's LVM an extra 30 or so using lvextend.
How can I extend the partition to fill my free space and the filesystem?
I don't mind offline, if I can get Xen to boot off an alternative media.

Image conversion with ImageMagick doesn't work on CentOS, but it works fine on Debian Lenny.
...ttom portion of the image under *some*
webservers looked completely wrong, and had strange checkering of the image
in stripes across the bottom.
At the time I had this problem, I took the issue to IM's forum, to no
avail. I ended up just using it on a Debian machine instead.

I am in the basement less than 150 feet from the Apple computer. I do not have wireless card in the CentOS desktop computer and am looking for a card to install to accomplish this.

centos driver disk?
the recent discussion of support for Promise SATA drives reminded me
that a while back i remember reading about a project to assemble a
driver disk to provide wider hardware support than just stock
CentOS. how's that coming along? i don't see anything in the wiki
about it...
as i have a vested interest in this project (since i'm still relying
on old MegaRAID controllers),

xeon quad core?
Can anyone share their experience with installing RHEL / Centos
(latest production release) on the Dell 2950 (or 2900) with the
quad-core e5310 processor? Does anyone know what chipset Dell is
using on this box?
I've got one on the way, and I'm hoping to use centos as the 'host' OS
for several virtual machines (some of them Windows pigs), running
vmware server.

Is anybody else dealing with Security Metrics?
Seems that some of the credit card processors demand the use of Security
Metrics to test their web hosting for meeting a fairly good security
standard.
First, it doesn't matter if they do online credit card processing or
not, just credit card processing period. This makes some sense, as
someone could hack in a form pretending to ask for this information...
so there is at least some

Limiting files when using rsync
I use the following command to sync the home directory on the two
computers, however I would like not to send the "dot" files e.g.
".ssh". Can that be done, and if so, how would I construct the command
line?
/usr/bin/rsync -av -e ssh /home/ 192.168.0.22:/home/
Many thanks....

Optimizing CentOS for gigabit firewall
Hi,
I want to configure CentOS on powerful server with gigabit
adapters as transparent bridge and deploy it in front of server farm.
Can you tell how to optimize the OS for hight packet processing? What
configurations I need to do to achieve very hight speeds and thousands of
packets?
