ODP: Re: SAMBA 4 as Active Direcotry and Hyper-V
I have a suspicion that it is related to the specific SPNs that hyperv uses. Hyper-v tries to register 3 spn (typing from memory so I might be a bit off): Microsoft hyper-v console/HOST.FQDN Hyper-V Replication Servive/HOST.FQDN Microsoft Hyper-V Live Migration Service/HOST.FQDN. This fails because of the spaces, that is samba being on linux, not seeing escape characters, messes up the request it up and just fails with registering. Im hyper-v log you should see errors with failure to register spn.  Without SPN...

Problem with CentOS package for 2.3.0 and old dependency in systemd with clean install
...clean install? Because as the ssl-params executab?e is missing in 2.3.0 I don't know how else I should create it. If this file isn't even needed for 2.3.0 can it be a file with any content eg 'touch /var/lib/dovecot/ssl-parameters.dat' so that the file is just there and dovecot-init.servive doesn't want to call the /usr/libexec/dovecot/ssl-params executable? puppet standlone hanging when ran via init.d
Hi, I''ve just changed my debian preseed configuration to install the debian unstable package of puppet v0.22.1. As part of the preseed I have a late command that clobbers the /etc/init.d/puppet file into using the puppet standalone program and not the puppetd (as this is what I''m using). Since the upgrade to 0.22.1 every boot hangs during the initd. Going into standalone mode

[Bug 617] /etc/services disregarded
...ReportedBy: tiaan at netsys.co.za I use RedHat 7.2 and the SSL version which ships with this. SSHD seams to have an annoying feature/bug which does not honour /etc/services. There is a program which periodically starts up on the server and when running, listens on a port registered in /etc/servives. However, when one ssh to the server, I have now witnessed sshd 'stealing' this port and the application fails to start up as the port is already bound. Is there a way of telling sshd to honour the reserved ports (man page seems not to give any such clues). If not, I would say it would...

Problem with CentOS package for 2.3.0 and old dependency in systemd with clean install
Hi, you definitely have a problem with the packages out of your own repo for version 2.3.0 and CentOS. And this is only if you do a clean install, meaning there was no lower dovecot version ever running on the system. If you want to 'systemctl start dovecot' it breaks with a dependency error which comes from dovecot-init.service. dovecot-init.service : [Unit] Description=One-time

RFC: nut and systemd
Hi, you've probably heard about systemd already. In Fedora 15, it's used as default instead old SysV init system. While there is some backward compatibility layer, everything is going to be ported from /etc/init.d/<something> init scripts to systemd's service files /lib/systemd/system/<something>.service Unfortunately?, systemd is not 1:1 compatible with old init
