Two "pre-migration" questions
I have read the migration docs. They seem to relate to migrating from one imap product to dovecot on the same server. I'm interested in migrating my Maildir-formatted email from one server to another. 1. Can I tar my ~/mail directory on serverX.com, untar it on a different physical serverY.com (initially with a different domain name), and still see my mail when I access imap.serverY.com <http://imap.serverY.com> (dovecot's running on serverY.com .. but let me know if there are any tricks that I need to make this work). 2. If I maintain large mailboxes and check my mail fre...

RC1 problem? (Conversation over two IAX2 streams = nasty, gappy audio) (fwd)
...a bug in the "optimized bridging" code in chan_iax2.c interacting badly with the IAX2 jitter buffer. This problem only affect calls where: 1) There are 2 or more servers doing optimised bridging between the end-points of the call. ie a call like A-end -IAX2-> *serverX -IAX2-> *serverY -IAX2-> B-end. To put it another way: Server A-end does Dial(IAX2/serverX/something) Server X in turn does exten => something,1,Dial(IAX2/serverY/something) Server Y in turn does exten => something,1,Dial(IAX2/bend/endpoint) Server B-end then does Dial(ZAP/g1/...) or whatever (No...

Samba4 Internal DNS CNAME entries
I am currently in the progress of testing the replacement of a Windows 2003 DC with a Samba4-based one. In the DNS of old Windows DC we had CNAME entries to alias www.domain.com to serverX.domain.com and ftp.domain.com to serverY.domain.com. This is working and can be tested successfully with dig The CNAME entries were correctly replicated across to the internal DNS server on the new Samba4 DC after it joined the domain, but querying that server for www.domain.com through dig returns no results. However, samba-tool dns que...

Samba3 Win95 interoperability
Greetings, I am trying to get samba3 to work well with W95. The windows 95 box can see the samba server, but cannot authenticate (claims wrong password) to get to any shares. I know the smbpasswd is good as I can authenticate and get to the shares using the same account and password on a W2000 machine. I suspect I am doing something wrong in the [global] section of the samba server. Would

When i boot up the server running debian Woody, with kernel 2.4.23, running asterisk CVS from DEC 30 2003, asterisk is loaded with no problems on the init.d, so asterisk runs fine but it doesnt

Problem with svn/apache
I hope someone can help me with this b/c I'm stumped... I had set up an svn repository a while ago with an apache/webdav front end using the default centos packages. For some reason this morning it stopped working for me - it would give me a 403 error. I suppose the problem is with Apache and not svn. So far I've checked the following: I use a couple of files called svn_htpasswd_file

Samba Server Not Browseable
Hello- I am in the process of upgrading our NT 3.51 to NT 4.0 but have run into a problem: We have Samba 1.9.14 running on a UnixWare 2.1 machine. With the NT 3.51 machines the Samba Serveris not visible in the Network Neightborhood, but it can be easily accessed by specifying where one wants to connect. NT 4.0 doesn't seem to have this option. So, 1) can someone tell me HOW to make

Looping auth problem
Hello, We have had an unusual problem start this week. I observed smbd process using lots of CPU time for an extended period of time. Upon looking at the log for that machine with debug=2, I discovered that a client PC was looking for information on a particular user on our network over and over. That user is a valid user on our network. Killing the effected smbd process did not work; another

a better smbstatus for monitoring samba ?
Hello, does anyone know if there is a tool in existence that can monitor samba shares like smbstatus but is much more advanced (and runs in console) , I mean a tool that has menues, some search options, and things sorted out nice. A Samba realtime monitor would be the best thing with lots of details and lots of options. I tried Swat, but that aint really a solution to watch who is connected
