ldap + samba + group membership problem
...dary groups : "software" +
"development" + "docs"
Now, in the "netlogon" global login script that I've made : SARTUP.BAT
I would like, to affect a drive letter for the user "joe" depending on his
"groups membership" so :
net use D: \\servershare\docs (joe is group membership of "docs")
net use F: \\servershare\software (joe is group membership of "software" too)
...
But I've noticed in the example script of source distrib. of SAMBA (genlogon.pl)
that there is the use of %G witch is the main group of the user.

(Un)Locking shared DOS application
Hi,
for some time now I'm trying to create the best environment/solve a
sharing conflict around a DOS application (Clippered dBase I suscpect)
that one of our clients is using and distributing over about 20 Sun
450's on a shared service 'servershare'.
On every Sun there are multiple Windows 95 clients connected to diverse
shares amongst which this 'servershare'.
On this share they have a DOS application, which they insist on using it
in a multi user mode- although the thing itself (probably/obviously)
lacks multi-usage capabilitie...

How to switch of the users profile copying ?
Hi all !
I'm using Samba 2.2.3a on a Redhat Linux 7.2 as a Primary Domain Controller
!
My users are mostly use win2000 and the profile directory can be really
large after some month, so in this case I need a lot of Extra storage to
store them on the PDC !
We don't need this feature basically, so is it possible somehow to switch
of this feature ?
Best Regards !

segmentation fault
Dear Samba org.
I have a problem when mounting a windows drive into my linux server, I have
samba 2.2.3a and kernel 2.4.18 with SuSE 8.0
The problem I have is that I get a "segmentation fault" message when I try
to access some windows directories, after that samba gets frozen and I cant
kill the process (looks to me it keeps running an endless cycle). This
wasn't a problem with

[Samba Version 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE]: WinXP-Error writing to share
...Version 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE
on a
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9
with Kernel 2.6.5-7.252-smp
Now the problem is, that samba generally works fine, but it doesn't work
to work with a special application directly on a samba-share.
This app is EPLAN, who is configured to save his project-data on the
servershare, because of the fact that there everything will be backuped
regularly.
All this worked prior with a Windows Server 2003, which now should be
replaced with the linux samba-server.
Now when we switched to Samba for testing purposes the error occured,
that Windows throws the following Error while...

Auto mapping to windows home drives?
This could be quite simple but I don't know how to do it.
Does anyone know how I can automatically mount a users home drive (which is
located on a windows server) when they log in? Is there a pam module for
that?
Thanks very much,
Sapan

Slow browsing through Windows Explorer
Hello,
I'm having a very strange problem with Samba version 2.2.7a. I have four
boxes, Two Linux Mandrake Boxes (Morpheus and Unreal both v. 9.2), One
RedHat (Link v. 8.0) and an XP Workstation (Kek XP Pro NO SP1).
When I bring up My computer (Explorer) and attempt to browse through the H:
drive (SMB Share mapped to Users Home dir on Morpheus), Y: drive (SMB Share
