VPN Single Daemon For LAN/WAN
Gus:
I guess my primary point of confusion is that the non-vpn LAN ip
addresses are duplicated in each cluster. So within a cluster, the LAN
addresses are unique.
But when you look at 2 clusters, 2 different servers share the
10.99.0.11 address.
So that is why I created a VPN for inside the cluster on the LAN
interfaces using the private 10.0.1.xx range. THen, I created a
separate VPN on the

VMs won't power on
...ware-vmx /var/lib/vmware/Virtual
Machines/Red Hat Linux/Red Hat Linux.vmx" from the command-line on the
server..
I tried running it from the command line, as the message suggests. That
just hangs forever. I don't see anything other than the above error
message in the /var/log/vmlog/vmware-serverd.log file.
I've tried rebooting, and uninstalling and reinstalling the VMware
Server software. I even tried installing from tar file, instead of the
RPM. Nothing changes.
I'm completely stuck. Can anyone help me with this?

VPN Single Daemon For LAN/WAN
...nother node in the other cluster, all nodes will
know each other's WAN addresses and they can all talk to each other.
For the connections between two nodes in a cluster, just provide them
with their LAN address.
So on Server #A, in hosts/ServerB, you put:
Address = 145.61.252.81
And in hosts/ServerD you put:
Address = 10.99.0.12
On Server #C, in hosts/ServerB you put:
Address = 10.99.0.11 (assuming that's what it's LAN IP address is in
Data Center #2)
And in hosts/ServerD you put:
Address = 105.61.252.21
So when Server #A makes a connection to Server #D, it knows and will use

"mount error(112): Host is down" on Ubuntu 17.10
Hello,
I am a long time Samba user but new to this list. Now I need some help
on a CIFS mount issue I just encountered.
We have 4 Samba servers:
ServerA: Samba 3.0.28a
ServerB: Samba 3.6.25
ServerC: Samba 4.3.11
ServerD: Samba 4.3.11
I am using a BASH script to mount shares in user's home directory using
this line:
sudo mount.cifs //192.168.123.29/share/ ~/server/share -o
user=<user>,password=<password>,uid=<uid>,rw,mand,mapchars
Everything works fine with Ubuntu LTS v12.04, v14.04 and v1...

7) Beginning with this release, the shorewallrc file supports a
SERVICEFILE variable. SERVICEFILE is only relevant when SERVERD is
non-empty, in which case it names the file to be installed as the
product''s .service file. If SERVERD is specified but SERVICEFILE is
not, the assumed value of SERVERFILE is $PRODUCT.service.

Another sharing tehnique, is this possible ?
hi,
(assume HTB)
I was thinking will it be possible to do some sort of UNFAIR-SHARING :"), what I have in mind :
Say I have a internet link with 100kbits bandwith, then I want to share it between many clients (which will increase over time). Let''s i start with 5 clients with rate = 30kbits...
See the total bandwith of users is 120kbits but I have only 100kbits.... So where is the

[somewhat OT] Apache config for Rails + ColdFusion + PHP
Our group has several web apps developed in ColdFusion, PHP, and Rails. The
ColdFusion and PHP apps are on an older server, and the Rails apps on a new
server. Ideally, we''d like them all to share the same server.
Our current setup for the Rails server is Apache2.2 with mod_proxy_balancer
and mongrel_cluster. We''d like to have specific directories be processed
and served by

VMWare hiccup on CentOS 5, 2.6.18-8.1.8
For reasons which escape me, my VMWare Server, which was working perfectly a
week ago when I shut down my machine for vacation, no loner comes up with
the formerly working Windows XP system - it just stays in the small window
where it normally boots and does nothing.
The vmware serverd log shows nothing particularly interesting, and I have
reconfigured the vmware twice to try and fix this (which interestingly
enough could not find the vmware modules for my os either time).
I am running CentOS 5.0 with all the latest updates through this morning,
plus a 2.6.18-8.1.8 kernel with N...

HTTP as a source for files
...puppetmasters quite a bit and can often
result in a timeout if the file is too large. Before I submit a
feature request for a http method for file sources, I would throw it
out to the group and see if anyone had any thoughts on it.
Possible benefits of a HTTP source could be shifting some filefile
serverd from Puppet on larger installs (especially useful if you need
to deploy larger files like packages). Another possible benefit could
be the ability to generate files using sources external to Puppet -
ie. cgi script on remote server generates config file (yes, I know you
could do it with a template,...
