Finally here is my setup : Network A 1.1.0.0/16 with Samba DC ServA for domain DomA at ip 1.1.254.254 (which also act as IPSEC gateway and firewall). Network B 2.1.0.0/16 with Samba DC ServB for domain DomB at ip 2.1.254.254 (which also act as IPSEC gateway and firewall). Browsing is Ok (I think) : preferred master = Yes local master = Yes...

EFI: PXE: "My IP is 0.0.0.0"
...r we have to create a child of the particular matching protocol and those do not have the same interface. I kept testing my patch and so far it proved to work in a multi-NIC environment: I've set a VMware EFI client with 2 NICs connected to the same network, using the VMware DHCP server and Serva as proxyDHCP. Setting a MAC filter in Serva I forced the client not receiving PXE redirection parameters alternative on NIC_1 or NIC_2; the client always booted correctly from the NIC that received the full set of PXE parameters. It seems to work. It would be really interesting if the HP guys ha...

EFI and proxyDHCP: setups
Patrick, I think I've been able to figure out some missing details about your VMware Workstation tests. For a proxyDHCP, I'm using dnsmasq. Could you try to confirm your test was the same basic setup? On VMware Workstation 10 with a VMHWv10 VM set to EFI firmware for x64, I've been able to get mixed results, depending on if a gateway is provided. With a VMHWv9 VM, I see what appear

This is the item I do not have other than a simple modem/router. If I need a DHCP server then I may as well go back to Windows software like Serva. Thanks again for your attention. Hello all I was just hoping to see if there was a forum, or a patient individual kind enough to help me configure PXELinux (I only understand the wiki to a point). Apologies for using this medium to call for aid as I've been unable to locate an alternative support channel. Richard

How do I make rsync ignore unreadable files (damaged sectors)?
Lately I've working on a backup script that utilize rsync together with MySQL logging. Everything has been working just fine until now when I needed to generate some errors for my error handling code. So I took a CD (which I scratched with a needle) and mounted it to the file system. There after I started the backup job which went on forever and never got completed. It seems that rsync

[PATCH 0/1] EFI PXE DHCP/proxyDHCP issues fix
...you have this issue by setting up a WireShark system and snooping. The failing scenario is in the UDP request for boot filename to the proxyDHCP server, both ports are 4011 so the proxy server ignores the packet and does not reply. <<< This depends on the proxyDHCP; if you use i.e Serva you will have no problem at all, the proxyDHCP ACK will be send to the source port used by the client on its previous DHCPREQUEST. That's it. What failing proxyDHCP are you using? >>> Resolution for problem 1: If you have access to your BIOS source code, change boot request source...
