Need help with exclude
Hi all,
I am having *massive* problems trying to exclude a single directory from an rsync.
I have serv1 and serv2. I am trying to rsync /foo/test from serv1 to /foo on serv2 I want to exclude the directory /foo/test/dir1 So I try:
rsync -av --exclude-from=/foo/rsync.excludes /foo/test serv2:/foo
rsync.excludes contains:
/foo/test/dir1/
This is not working.
I also try:
rsync -av --exclude=/foo/test/d...

Kerberos authentication when accessing samba domain member when PDC is also samba
Hi!
I have next setup:
PDC: Samba 3.0.25b-apple, Mac OS X 10.5.8 server. (Lets call it Serv2)
Machines can join domain. Clients can use kerberos to authenticate. Everything works pretty good.
Domain member: Samba 3.2.7-11.4.1-2210-SUSE-CODE11, OpenSUSE 11.1. (Lets call it Serv2)
this server joined domain. Clients can connets, server authenticate clients on domain controller, everything go...

Will MultiMaster dsync work fine or will be big problems ?

When email received to serv2, it will be synced to serv3, and serv3 will
sync it to serv1, and serv1 will sync it to serv2 and will stop here

Redundant Rsync?
Is there a way to tell rsync that if it does not have contact with a
certain rsync server to continue on to another for file requests? I
imagine something like this, where you define two servers as the
source...
/usr/local/bin/rsync {serv1,serv2}::src dest
...proposing that
1. Should serv1 be down when the sync is originally started, that
serv2 be contacted after a timeout.
2. Not so important, but probably a desirable thing once the above is
available, if serv1 or its connection dies in the middle of a sync,
that the sync continue on to...

readable.
It should contain just the password as a single line.
The trouble with this is that the file then shows up like this in an ls:
2 -rw------- 1 root wheel 9 Jan 24 2007 /var/
rsync.passwd.server.mount
2 -rw------- 1 root wheel 11 Jun 30 2007 /var/
rsync.passwd.serv2.moun2
2 -rw------- 1 root wheel 10 Jul 14 2008 /var/
rsync.passwd.tuesday.mountie
This tells everyone the exact length of each password (8 characters,
10, characters, and 9 characters, respectively).
Granted, it's not MUCH of a security issue, and I guess the password-
files can be sto...

Password authentication via NT server on 1.9.18p5
...lting to Lanman
I can pass test 9 if I use a user name which exists on
the DEC Aplha server, but like the other Samba servers,
I want to use our NT PDC (XYZ) for user authentication.
I would also like to use our NT BDC for backup
authentication. Is the smb.conf entry:
"password server = serv1 serv2" or is there a comma
separating the names?
One interesting thing is the contents of the smb log:
load_client_codepage: filename /etc/codepages/codepage.850
does not exist.
ERROR: root did not create the semaphore.
The ERROR regarding the semaphore seems to be created with
every (failed?) log...

idct8x8 C version in libtheora1.1 release
When using the IDCT routines, the C version [ lib/idct.c:
oc_idct8x8_c(ogg_int16_t _y[64],int _last_zzi)] in libtheora 1.1.1, the
decoded image is garbled. Is it functionally equivalent to the MMX optimized
version [lib/x86/mmxidct.c: oc_idct8x8_mmx(ogg_int16_t _y[64],int

I used some of the Theora video files from here:

Unreal Media Server - no way to run in Linux

It consists of two parts - the configurator (UServerConfig.exe), which works well, and the server itself - UMediaServer.exe, which should run as a regular windows service and listen incoming connections on several TCP ports. But when I try to run it in wine, the following errors occur:

Failover question
The registry's are stored in DB.
Just export your database with 'database show'
Schedule it with cron to run every 5 minutes or so.
You can do that with -rx command line switch for asterisk.
Send the file across to other node and pipe it through awk/perl/cut or
whatever you like and import it when you bring the other node up.
You will have to stop and start asterisk I think.
