Problem with HTTP traffic (very slow)
...ing is broken with http traffic on this machine. The only difference between these two machines is one is an nfs server and the other an nfs client to that machine. Has anyone experienced this before / got any pointers on where I should look, which deity I should pray to etc. Cheers, -- Mark Sergeant <msergeant@snsonline.net> SNSOnline Technical Services

Dovecot and Postfix Authentication
I am a student and am trying to get a mail server setup for a project. I have all of the Postfix configuration taken care of, but I am confused by the way that authentication works with Dovecot in the mix. As a user of the system, am I supposed to authenticate myself to Postfix, Dovecot, both individually, or both together? My Postfix users are stored in a PostgreSQL database, should Dovecot also

RODBC Error
Hello, I'm using R 2.2.0 on a Mac and attempting to use the RODBC package to connect to a PostgreSQL server on the local network. I can't tell whether my problem is in R, or in ODBC setup. I got drivers from OpenLink, created a dsn and tested it using the iODBC application. then I load the RODBC package, use this code and get the following error. I tried with both the

Network is busy...
I have done a great deal of reading regarding the network is busy error, but haven't come up with an answer for one particular problem. Here is the situation. Two identical DGUX machines are sitting on a network. Both machines are running Samba 1.9.10 with no problems other than performance. Upon several recommendations about improving performance, they decided to upgrade to 2.0.3.

Profiling a recoll stress-test
Hi all, I don''t know if you''re familiar with recoll, it''s a very handy xapian based desktop search engine system. I''m trying to index a really big folder containing lots of files (18M), the disk size is ~220Gig. The files are quite small text files (mean size ~ 1K). The OS is latest leopard. I think the process is io-bound. 63061 recollinde 10.4% 3:58:06
