How to combine/join/merge etc PCA and Cluster?
...ms are arranged in the same group. So, I want to plot together PCA and Clusters, in a such way that locations belonging to the same ecosystem are displayed with the same COLORS, and locations grouped in the same cluster, have the same SHAPE. For example: I have 1 site from Savanna and 1 site from Serengeti that are in the same cluster, Thus I would like to plot both with different colors blue and green, respectively due different ecosystem classification and with the same shape (triangle) because they are in the same group. So, I would have a cluster with 2 triangles one green and another blue. How...

Puppet in Fedora Extras
Puppet has been in Fedora Extras for the last couple of weeks or so; I just forgot to post about that. With that, there is no need to use my personal repo at people.redhat.com anymore; your standard yum configuration should find it. The current version is 0.18.3; I just built 0.18.4 for Extras, but it will be a day or two before it shows up on a mirror near you. David

puppet standlone hanging when ran via init.d
Hi, I''ve just changed my debian preseed configuration to install the debian unstable package of puppet v0.22.1. As part of the preseed I have a late command that clobbers the /etc/init.d/puppet file into using the puppet standalone program and not the puppetd (as this is what I''m using). Since the upgrade to 0.22.1 every boot hangs during the initd. Going into standalone mode

cft through changes (new tool based on puppet)
I''ve started working on a new tool that should help with modifying the configuration of a system under the control of puppet. The tool is called cft (pronounced ''sift'') and is inspired by Gnome''s Sabayon[1] in taht it watches how an admin changes a system and spits out a puppet manifest based on its observations. Cft''s website is

New Feature: Graphing
...hance, please experiment with this a bit. I''ll be (hopefully!) releasing 0.22 tomorrow, and it will have this feature included. So, get your bug reports and feature requests in now (although at this point feature requests better include patches). -- Like frozen sentries of the serengeti, the century-old termite mounds had withstood all tests of time and foe - all tests, that is, except the one involving drunken aardvarks and a stolen wrecking ball." -- Gary Larson --------------------------------------------------------------------- Luke Kanies | htt...

Getting a list of managed machines on the puppetmaster.
Is there an easy way to list which puppet daemons a puppetmaster controls? ... and from that, is there a way of getting the puppetmaster to store a copy of their compiled configuration somewhere? Thanks, mike

Using through with habtm
I have two models with an habtm relationship: Foo has_and_belongs_to_many Bars (and vice-versa, obviously). Let''s say Bar has_many Bazs (how the heck do you pluralize Baz?). It would be nice to be able to say that Foo has_many Bazs through => Bar, but this does not seem to work. Am I right, or should it be possible to do this? The best I have been able to do is this: bazs =

How to handle plugin dependency
I am trying to use the permalink_fu plugin together with the acts_as_taggable plugin so my tags will have both a full name (like COM/OLE) and a permalink suitable for use in a url (like com-ole) so I can have urls like /article/list/com-ole. The only snag I have hit is that when I add: has_permalink :name to the Tag class definition I get a "method missing" error. I was able to get

Escaping html entities with in_place_editor_field
I have a field where a user might need to enter text that includes greater than and less than signs. I am using in_place_editor_field, so I need a way to tell it to escape html entities (convert to > and <) when displaying and NOT escape html entities (just show the greater than and less than signs) when editing. Any ideas? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You
