Analyze each factor separtely
...y~ 1|strain +
1|code
tapply does not work (or rather i cannot get it to work)
In SAS i would simply use
PROC MIXED data=data;
by code;
model y=;
random code strain /solution;
run;
Not so easy in R?
thanks!

Reading multiple tables from file
...3 Value
1 1 1 0.111
3 3 3 0.333
...
-------------
Would there be an easy way
of turning this into (a list of) data.frames
with names Pietje, Jantje
and variables I1,I2,...Value?
(I1,I2 are string or categorical,
Value is double).
I used an sed script to extract the tables
from the file into separte file,
but would rather be able to process
the output files directly.
Thanks,
Gerrit.

la.flac
sola.flac: ERROR: file 'sola.cue' for 'CUESHEET' tag value has embedded NULs
And I've got that error.
See I have the flac that is one file containing all the tracks in a CD. I
want to rip each track separtely (in wav preferably) using something like
foobar. The problem is tha foobar just won't pick up (I don't know why) the
.cue file.
So I've tried to use metaflac because if I understood correctly this would
mark the "internal metadata" or something like that of the file and th...

[LLVMdev] LTO & PIC
...is broken, and they are not
LTO'ed yet either.
Would it be possible to have both the old PIC behaviour and the new LTO
based behavious coincide via a flags like --enable-lto=(yes,no) and for
older PIC behavious to be unchanged from there old behaviour allowing
--enable-pic=(yes,no) to function separtately from --enable-lto.
I think this would be cleared and more logical to have a separation of
concerns with PIC behaviour separate from LTO behaviour, ie with
the --enable-lto=yes setting PIC behaviour but not the otherway round.
Thanks,
Aaron

R-beta: New R package for survival analysis
...additive hazards regression, which is an alternative (or
supplement) to the Cox model. It results in plots that are informative
regarding the effect of covariates on survival.
I wrote it as a S-plus package, but has made some small adjustments to
make it work on R. This can now be down loaded in a separte file.
In version 1.1 of addreg (last quarter 1997?), I'll plan to give a full
R version with the same functionality as the S-plus version.

I thought about it and we might do it via page_freeze_refs but
what I want at this moment is to separte two semantic put and putback.

Aggregate load/stores
...much like to see something that allows
the user of LLVM to use load/store withing things like "is my thing that
I'm storing big, if so don't generate a load, use a memcpy instead". Not
only does this make the usage of LLVM harder, it also causes slow
compilation [perhaps this is a separte problem, but I have a simple program
that copies a large struct a few times, and if I turn off my "use memcpy
for large things", the compile time gets quite a lot longer - approx 1000x,

forward code - even the Pasca...

Speex echo cancellation and denoise issues

audio capture and playback are handled asynchronously I call the function
speex_echo_playback right after I enqueue a buffer for sound card to play

Convergence problem with zeroinfl() and hurdle() when interaction term added
Hello,
I have a data frame with 1425 observations, 539 of which are zeros. I

Zone is a factor with 4 levels, Year a factor with 27 levels, and
Source a factor with 3 levels. Nbr_Abs is counts

Two Lines, Two Businesses

about which way to proceed.
We (my wife and I) have two separate micro-businesses with two POTS lines
plus fax. I'd like to have inbound calls on the two
