Hi, I just installed a Samba Server as a PDC and my WIN9X machines worked just fine, but I can?t join WIN2000 Clients to the domain. I created the Trust Account but when a join the domain I get the message. "The following error occured attempting to join the domain "TECNICO"" Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password Also, in the /var/log/samba/taller.log I got

I have searched for 2 days on the net and can't find an answer. I am trying to joing a winXP machine to a domain. I have previously done this but since a samba upgrade and perhaps other upgrades to the system (Kernel upgrade?) it no longer works. Previously the auto script creation process successfully created the machine trust account, but not anymore. I tried creating the trust account

1) Have you applied the registry patch to the XP machine? 2) Check samba.org as i'm not sure which version first started supporting XP, 2.2.3a may be borderline. Hi all, Tring to create a backup of a 30 odd gig samba filesystem. I belive that the maximum smbtar can create is a 2 gig file though. Anyone knwo a way around this?
