I'm asked if there is a way to save a copy of all mail we send trough our sendmail server (Red Hat EL 5.x) in and out as an .eml file for further processing by a DMS system. I mean every single email sent and recieved is kept for a period of time (3 -5 years) separate from users mail, and emails cant be deleted. Ideally emails would have compression, mailboxes need to be searchable easily, and some mechanism whereby attachments sent to multiple people only get saved once, and emails sent to multiple people only get saved once. Postfix has nowhere near the flexibility of Exim to develop rules like that, but I think I could potentially use an sql query on my user database to set up a sender_bcc_map that addressed the result to <sender local part>+Sent.<yyyy>.<mm> (or maybe<senderlocalpart>+Sent/<yyyy>/<mm> and then send that to dovecot.
