In preparation for parallel processing, we need to be sure that two threads belonging to the same connection cannot interleave their I/O except at message boundaries. Hi, Looking for some help with this issue, been struggling for a few weeks We run a file server using Samba 4.9.5 (openSUSE Leap 15.2 4.9.5+git.343.4bc358522a9-lp151.2.27.1). Active Directory using Windows Server 2016. The Samba server is a member of the domain. Windows 10 desktops and Linux desktops are also domain members. [PATCH nbdkit v2 2/2] server: Use a thread-local pread/pwrite buffer to avoid leaking heap data.
If the plugin .pread method did not fill the buffer with data then the contents of the heap could be leaked back to the client. To avoid this create a thread-local data buffer which is initialized to zero and expanded (with zeroes) as required. Sched_op hypercall small questions
Greetings all. Some small question regarding schedule poll operation hypercall. 1. struct sched_poll poll.timeout is measured in what unit of time? Secs, ms? ns? 2. After issuing the hypercall_sched_op(SCHEDOP_poll, &poll); if no timeout is used in poll struct how long will I yield the CPU? 3. If I issue the hypercall and the event never comes is it possible to to yield the CPU for ever?

This is about the simplest implementation of NBD Structured Replies (SR) that we can do right now. It accepts NBD_OPT_STRUCTURED_REPLIES when negotiated by the client, but only sends back the simplest possible SR when required to by NBD_CMD_READ. The rest of the time it will send back simple replies as before. We do not modify the plugin API so plugins are unable to send complex SRs. Also we
