Senao SI-7800
Hi Just received a couple of SI-7800 wifi phones. nice looking phone, got it to work after a bit of a headache, which I thought I would share. sip.conf [1007] type=friend username=1007 secret=blah host=dynamic context=from-sip disallow=all allow=ulaw The phone has a problem selecting codec's so I had to hard code it. Currently I can't get DTMF to work, i think its either not sending

WiFi phone radiation regulation?
All, I just had the fortune to take one of the new Senao Wifi SIP phones for a short test drive. First look - it's a nice, compact phone. Weighs around 87g and roughly the size of a Nokia 6210. More on the those later. The thing that struck me was the RF power, it's rated at 100mw (20dBm). That's 10 times more than any of the other brands...

WiFi Phones (was Looking for Wireless Heaset for Polycom 501)
...many handsets, but the Linksys, Pirelli, D-Link, 3Com, Neuf Twin, and who knows how many others are all made by the same ODM so I don't think any of the variations might be any better. There's a Samsung phone that was announced a while back but I can't find anything of it, same for some Senao models and their site didn't load the VoIP wifi page (404 error) months ago and is the same today. Cisco.... well chan_sccp seems to have not been updated in 19 months and how feature-packed is chan_skinny? Has anyone encountered a WiFi phone that is reliable besides SpectraLink? Regards, An...

Cost of IP Phones, or Isn't It Just Software?
I took a little foray into pricing out IP Phones for my home pbx yesterday. $75-$750 seems to be quite a range, so I took a closer look. Cisco, for example, has different models such as the 7940 and 7960 which seem to only differ in the software. And buying a Cisco 7920 should cost you $500 w/o a license, and $200 more with a license? It seems to me that these prices are substantially
