[llvm-toolchain v3.8.1] LTO: Linking clang hangs with ld.gold and LLVMgold.so plugin
Hi, unfortunately, my build somehow hangs when linking clang binary and my system is in an unusable state. My toolchain is clang-3.8, gold-1.11 and LLVMgold.so from binutils v2.26.1 (both selfmade) and LTO-flag is enabled. My buildsystem uses cmake-3.6.0 and ninja-1.7.1 (both prebuilt). I have 52 last steps left in my 3rd build. My Linux-kernel is v3.13.0-92 from official Ubuntu repositories. On my Ubuntu/precise AMD64 I have ***4GiB RAM and 256MiB SWAP***. Is this not enough RAM/SWAP for...

problem with a selfmade helper method
Hi all, i tried to set up the helper method "grouped_programs_selector" in application_helpers.rb. Since i dont have a deep understanding of Ruby itself, I pretty much copied the Grouped Selection List (Chapter 17, pp. 259, 260) example from Dave & David''s Book. The optiongroups are properly created by my method, but there are no options inside. Maybe you can debug this

Selfmade ... Samba 3.0.20a on CentOS 4.0 x64
Hi all, has somebody already tried to compile the rpm of the newest samba package on a 64-bit CentOS. I tried to do it with the Fedora spec file and it quit with an error, that some files are not located in the lib64 directory. These required files are located in the lib directory. Any sugesstion how this problem could be fixed in a clean way? How is this problem solved during the CentOS

check file changes within several directories
Hi all, I forgot the name a sofware (I think it was something related to security) wich checks for file content/permission changes, on a cron trigger basis. I could then have the list of added/changed files. I dont want to use some selfmade git-based or "find|xargs"-based piece of scripts. Thank you. -- RMA.

Plotting league tables/ caterpillar plots
...dering if there is a function to plot league tables, sometimes also known as "caterpillar plots"? A league table is conceptually very similar to a box plot. One difference is that the inter-quartile ranges are not shown. If there isn't such a function a first attempt for a "selfmade" plot would be to tell boxplot not to plot boxes (sounds silly isn't it?). I've tried the option "boxwex=0" but the result is unsatisfactory. An example for a league table can be found in Marshall, Spiegelhalter [1998], Reliability of league tables of in vitro fertilis...

R-devel on FreeBSD: new C99 functions don't build
About April 25th, there had been some changes within R-devel's src/nmath/pnbeta.c (and probably some other relevant places) and now building R-devel on FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT (amd64) with gcc-4.6.4 and math/R-devel (selfmade forked port from math/R) fails like this: [..snip..] mkdir /usr/ports/math/R-devel/work/R-devel/bin/exec gcc46 -std=gnu99 -I../../src/extra -I. -I../../src/include -I../../src/include -I/usr/local/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -fopenmp -fpic -O2 -pipe -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -msse3...

Workstation Trust Accounts
Hi there, I have a really ugly problem, which, as I know is partially selfmade. But to the problem: I have five servers running samba-2.2.3a-12 (latest Debian Woody release) which are controlled by one master server. All of the five servers act as pdc for an own nt-domain. Now to keep the administrative work as low as possible I have this one master server. Via this server we...

page allocation failure
Hi, today I burned some cds on my win XP machine. The data resides on my Linux server running Debian, selfmade kernel 2.6.8.1 and samba 3.0.6. After a while the syslog showed lines like these: ---snip---- Aug 27 19:27:38 sauron kernel: smbd: page allocation failure. order:5, mode:0xd0 Aug 27 19:27:38 sauron kernel: [<c0134648>] __alloc_pages+0x2f8/0x370 Aug 27 19:27:38 sauron kernel: [<c01346d...

If I copy from the current folder to the current folder I get a scrambled mailbox and an error. This might be selfmade, though. I'm currently trying to find this bug, but the various layers of [_oi]streams and callback and function pointer structs do not help :) I think the stream routines hide the mstream(istream(realstream(iostream))) and the ostream(_ostream(iostream)) behind the same file descriptor and th...

Billion BRI PCI card
I'm looking at experimenting with asterisk with an ISDN BRI and ISDN phones (since I have these already). I saw that the Billion card was cheap and could be used in either TE or NT modes. I have the following question which I couldn't answer by reading through the manual. Maybe someone has experience of using this card and can help me out. when using in NT mode does the card require

rid generation questions
Hello list, I have a few questions to ask... I am about to migrate from Samba 2 to 3 (3.5.9). I am going to use LDAP as backend in the future and came across something I don't understand. As far as I know the 'old' way to generate RIDs for users is to take their uidnumber, multiply it by two and add 1000. For computer accounts it would be 1001 instead of 1000. I am now trying to
