Erro Transfer Fsmo(DNS)
Hi! In wiki -> https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Transferring_and_Seizing_FSMO_Roles#Difference_of_Transferring_and_Seizing_FSMO_Roles "If the DC is broken (e. g. hardware defect) and will never come back again, then you can seize the role on a remaining DC. It is very important that the old DC will never be connected to the network again, if it is connected again, this will cause

problem with pciback
Hello, I''m attempting to run Windows XP in a domU using the PCs actual graphics card. I believe I''ve set everything up correctly, including the pciback module etc. I''ve set pciback to grab the graphics card and all the USB hosts as well: (from dmesg) pciback 0000:00:02.0: seizing device pciback 0000:00:02.1: seizing device pciback 0000:00:1a.0: seizing device pciback

Erro Transfer Fsmo(DNS)
So not the problem of using "seize" when both the OLD-FSMO server and NOVO-FSMo are active and on the network? The problem is to use "seize" if OLD-FSMO is not on the network and then come back? If I understood how it would be .... Regards; On 06-06-2018 15:46, Rowland Penny via samba wrote: > On Wed, 6 Jun 2018 15:35:29 -0300 > Carlos via samba <samba at

"XENBUS: Device with no driver" errors on Debian
I am running debian lenny, with the standard Xen 3.2 packages, with the 2.6.18-6-xen-686 kernel as dom0, and 2.6.24-1-xen-686 as domU. Everything is working fine apart from the console and the PCI passthrough. I am getting these errors in the domU on startup: XENBUS: Device with no driver: device/pci/0 XENBUS: Device with no driver: device/console/0 Does this mean the modules are missing?

SAMBA failing to start after upgrade
The upgrade shouldn't have touched the Samba database, just the binaries etc, so check the smb.conf file and recreate it if you cannot find it, or if it is incorrect. The smb.conf still exists [global] workgroup = IUMNET realm = IUMNET.EDU.NA netbios name = IUMDCDP01 server role = active directory domain controller dns forwarder = 172.16.10.254

SAMBA failing to start after upgrade
...Now enter 'samba-tool fsmo seize --help' From the output of the above command, you should be able to work out the command to seize the FSMO roles to this DC is: samba-tool fsmo seize --role=all --force -UAdministrator You will be prompted for a password The roles should be now be 'seized' to this DC. You can use another user instead of 'Administrator', but the user must have the required permissions. you use '--force' to stop the command trying to transfer the roles, this will fail because the old DC is offline, so why bother ;-) I will leave you to work out...

But, if you use the "seizi" dc that no longer has the FSMO should be removed from the network, right? pciback not working
Hi, I am still trying to assign pci or usbs to a domU. I get to the point where pciback seizes the devices (5 usb and 2 pci). I modified the configuration of the domU with pci = [ ''00:1d.0'' , ''00:1d.1'' , ''00:1d.2'' , ''00:1d.3'' , ''00:1d.7'', ''02:01.0'' , ''02:02.0'' ] but

R2 protocol error
Hi, I have three R2 installation on different carriers, all shows the same inconsistency at varying degree. But, on most test calls we made, it reaches T3. The worst part of these, the carrier claims that it's my R2 box that is not responding in time. Please, check the attached file and take note of the timestamp, you'll find that in some call, it already contradict what the carrier
