Dovecot as LDA with Postfix
...1 STABLE system. Nothing exotic. I am using SASL2. Authentication is via saslauthd -a sasldb. Perhaps I do not have that configured correctly in Dovecot. Dovecot does work fine as a POP server though, so it is running at least partially correctly. I would appreciate any assistance. -- Gerard Seibert gerard at seibercom.net Democracy is a device that insures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

Slowdown on lots of motion
I'm playing the "Honey" movie (both Honey-small and Honey-large) and I notice significant slowdown during periods of lots of motion (when the camera shakes, when the first man hops into bed, when people turn around and approach the camera, etc.). The audio plays smoothly all the time but when there is a lot of motion, the picture freezes and resumes when there's less motion.

Files missing when using windows XP and samba
Hi, I am using Fedora Core 3 as a server for both Unix (Solaris and HPUX) and Windows Xp clients. The Unix clients view the files through an NFS v3 share, and windows client use samba (3.0.8-0.pre1.3). When looking at a directory from the server, or from a Unix client, I can see 132 files. However, from the Windows client, I can only see 65 files. There appear to be nothing special about the

Samba Web Administration Tool (SWAT)
I know that this has probably been asked before. As a long time user of Samba, I remember using SWAT to configure Samba. It did seem, at least to me, to simplify things. At the very least, it did prevent me, and possibly other users, from creating simple syntax errors. I know that the Samba developers decided long ago to depreciate (eliminate) SWAT from the Samba distribution. I was just

The Xiph.org Foundation Needs You!
I am looking for someone to continue the Ogg Traffic tradition. Ogg Traffic is a weekly update and status report about what's happening with Ogg development as well as other related projects and interesting bits of news (Xiph, Speex, Icecast, etc.). Stan Seibert, who resurrected OT recently, is busy with Real Life activities that prevent him from writing an OT (http://www.vorbis.com/ot/) more frequently. The applicant should be subscribed to the mailing lists and of course have a clue as to what people are talking about. Also, it wouldn't hurt to c...

playback rate of theora movie "honey"
I downloaded xiph.org's free theora-encoded movie called "honey", both the large and the small versions. I tried playing the small version on both a g4 450 "OS X" mac and a PIII 800mhz running WinXP. On both platforms I used VLC media player version 0.7.2 Neither one of these platforms could play the movie smoothly from the hard disk drive. There were several moments, that

Detect version of smb being employed
FreeBSD 12 Samba 4.8.12 Samba is not showing up on my Win 10 PRO machine. I can access the shares if I use the machines hostname or IP, though. How can I determine what version of ?smb? is being used? I have set ?client max protocol = SMB3? in the config file; however, I am not sure if it is being used. If my understanding of the situation is correct, if an application wants to support vorbis, speex and flac, it has to use three different interfaces. (That's what Stan Seibert is doing right now with ogg123.) If a unifying library would exist, application developers should only code one interface. This would make things a lot more simple. This could also help to spread speex and flac more quickly, because if vorbis-aware applications start to use the new, unified libra...

Manpages
Here is patch with manpages for ogg123(1), mp3tovorbis(1) and vorbize(1). Manpages are in pod format, because it is the most readable man source, and are compiled by pod2man. all and clean for man/ work. Install and uninstall for man/ seem to work. Manpages are GPLed of course.

text/plain attachment: manpages.diff
-------------- next part
