rails under windows and mysql make webrick unstable
hi, I have installed ruby and rails under windows(exactly this one: http://rubyforge.org/frs/download.php/4174/ruby182-15.exe that includes rubygems) the thing is that while trying to install the mysql gem, it seemd to try to build the native extension, so I finally added a compiled version that I found in http://dema.ruby.com.br/ the problem is that webrick behaves quite unstable while

PXE boot times out after "Loading."
I am trying to install Debian GNU/Linux onto a floppy-less CD-ROM-less Shuttle XPC SS40G with an AMD Athlon installed. This machine has an on-board ethernet controller (RealTek 8139), but I had also added an Intel Pro/100 Ethernet card, and I am trying to boot via that additional Ethernet card. Following the instructions at: http://www.debianplanet.org/node.php?id=818 I obtained the stock

PF in 4.8-STABLE
My apologies in advance if this is the wrong list to ask this in, but how well does pf work in 4.8-STABLE? And if so, what kernel options do I need to compile in? Can pf kernel options coexist w/ IPFW options, if I keep the IPFW modulus from loading? Can I still bridge in regular fashion w/ pf? I've already read up on http://pf4freebsd.love2party.net/install.html, but this seemd a bit

trouble with setting individual quota values for multiple namespaces
Hello all please apologize that I repost this problem again. I tried to get some help several times on the list but did not find/get a solution. I am still struggling to setup different quotas for namespaces. In addition to the default "INBOX" namespace I have created a namespace called "MailArchive" which should have its own quota value of 5G per user. At first I

--dry-run reliability ?
Hi, I'm using rsync to backup my files. I have also added a pre-backup step where the script checks if there is enough space on the destination for rsync to run successfully. The goal is to make room (delete oldest backups) if that's not the case. I'm running rsync with -ahAXS --numeric-ids --link-dest options. For my pre-backup step, I'm currently using the same options +

Synaptics touchpad and slow xen boot...
I did it! By disabling acpi and apic i got Xen 3.0.2 booted... now, next step is resolving other problems, because when the kernel loads i got many errors when touchpad drivers are loaded (Synaptics). It seemd the system has hanged but if i still wait 5 minutes, the system continues loading. When doing init scripts (very, very, very slowly) pci_hotplug fails (after 5 minutes) and i got the system

rsync process never quits!
Hi, people. Please help! I run rsync under inetd in Cygwin environment on Windows 2000. I start several rsync processes each in a separate thread to sync a directory on my machine and a corresponding directory on another computer, e.g. three RSYNCs at the same time: * directories C:\aaa on 192.168.1.100 and C:\bbb on 192.168.50.20 * directories C:\aaa on 192.168.1.100 and C:\bbb on 192.168.50.21 *

RPC error, Samba2.0.5 and NT
Hi, I've got the following problem: I'm running Samba 2.0.5 on SUSE Linux 6.1 as fileserver in a network with 5 clients with Win NT SP5. It worked all fine untill I put one more share to my smb.conf. Now I had 9 shares instead of 8. When I now tried to browse the shares from NT via the Explorer or on the Shell via 'net view \\czwserv' I got a error telling me that a RPC.method

Hi, I've been trying to get Samba so tie with our departmental CUPS ssetup. I tried setting: load printers = yes printing = cups printcap name = cups etc in the smb.conf, but after a while discovered in log.smbd that: [2002/05/14 17:24:22, 0] printing/pcap.c:pcap_printer_fn(373) Unable to open printcap file cups for read! [LLVMdev] an annoying runtime bug of lldb on redhat enterprise linux 6.3 with gcc 4.8.2
Hi, all A few days ago I built lldb 3.3 release on our workstation with redhat enterprise linux 6.3 x86_64 (gcc verison 4.8.2). At the very beginning, lldb seemd to work and I debugged small native programs. Still, the bug showed itself randomly as follows: 1. at first, "(lldb)" prompt is missing and input from keyboard is not printed out, which means whatever I type, I can not read

Transfer rate on NT/XP/2000 with service pack 6a
...tly from mainframe to LAN, by the CD-server, was a problem. At this stage we have received a message that the SMB protocol has been changed. It was discovered that it had a serious security leak that has been 'repaired' with the most recent fixes. We don't know what has changed, but it seemds that there is some kind of checking on the transfer that will lead to a serious drop in the transfer rates. My guess would be that if there is a non-windows environment involved in the datatransfer it will be treated in a 'very safe' way, and by this it cannot get a normal transfer rate. A...

CentOS 5 64-bits support (desktop environment)
Hello, Does CentOS 5 use a better approach to 64-bits and 32-bits packages existing on the same machine? How is Upstream package selection comparing 32-bits and 64-bits editions? Should we expect third-party repositories (mainly rpmforge) to better support 64-bits packages? I want to figure out if I should use CentOS/RHEL 5 x86_64 in desktop environment.

eqscplot() in library MASS: fails when given only one point (PR#1164)
This is not a bug. There is no way one can scale the plot axes equally when no indication has been given of the scaling expected for either! It has always seemd to be that plot(x=1, y=1) shoul dnot work: it has not supplied enough information! Problems with shared folders with Dovecot 1.2.12
Hello, I'm trying to run shared folders with Dovecot 1.2.12. I'm managing ACLs from SOGo and it seemd that it successfully create dovecot-acl and dovecot-acl-list in user maildir. But I cannot see any of these shared folders. In Thunderbird I could see shared folder in Subscriptions but without option to subscribe. I was reading almost everything that was possible to google but without
