Dynamic registration to flakey for production system
...outside callers and people get really
irritated. Even setting the registration interval to 5 minutes was not
enough to guarantee that lines didn't go south. The workaround was to
hard code the phone IP addresses in sip.conf and turn off SIP register
in the phones. It may cost be a bit of securiity, but since the phones
are all on 192.168, I don't think it is too much of a risk. However, if
I was on a public network, or, if the phones were using DHCP for
addressing, this could be a major headache. Has anyone else had this
problem and if so, what was the solution?

Can't write mount entrysmbmnt failed: 1
I've compiled and installed samba-2.2.8a on an embedded linux/uClibc
system, and I'm having problems using smbmount. I've appended the
debuglevel=10 output of smbmount. What does smbmount mean when it
says it "Can't write mount entry"? I tried running it under strace to
see what it was writing to, but all I saw was:
rt_sigaction(SIGTERM, {0x10000000, [], 0x408160},

pdbedit not working as documented
I have am hitting a wall with pdbedit, as shown below.
Any workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
I am encountering the inability to change any users (profile) SID on Samba
3.x for Linux and BSD, which causes the accounts to no longer recognize
their local Samba 2 profiles once they join Samba 3 domain. If I add a new
user and pdbedit -a user -U SID it ignores the -U.
The old profiles appear

Hi Sergio and Nico,
I revisited nico's SPEC main samba 4.11 SPEC file last night to see if I
had missed much and found huge similarities (we must have have forked

Upgrade to 2.3.1 has failed
Alexander good afternoon. Thank you. I have spent the day learning
about AppArmor:
? I've reviewed your link, found /etc/apparmor.d/ and its local/ directory.
? I ran aa-logprof?and it found the change in stat?to old-stat?
that is discussed in the upgrade documentation. So I Allow (A)?that.
There are no other reports.
? I followed the discussion on using yast to manage the
profiles. I'm

Hmm why,
the guy at
https://raymii.org/s/tutorials/SAMBA_Share_with_Active_Directory_Login_o
n_Ubuntu_12.04.html
does exactly this.
Also the manpage e.g. for smb.conf describes the config for a connection
to an AD.
And after granting file rights to the share via
setfacl -m g:domänen-admins:rwx /var/samba/test
I can mkdir and granting rights to

CVS over SSH
Hi there
I'm running a samba cvs server in a windows domain with a W2K PDC. I want to authenticate windows users through ssh. I'm able to login with a windows user to the server on the server himself but when I want to login via a windows client It doesn't work. The connection is refused. Could it be something mis configured in my ssh pam module.
This is my pam ssh module

[GOLUM] RE: pdbedit not working as documented
You think Microsoft's mailing lists and forums are better? Just wait (and
wait, and and ...). Oh, that's right, you can call Microsft for help ,,, and
shell out $295 per.

[LLVMdev] IR Passes and TargetTransformInfo: Straw Man
Hi, Sean:
I'm sorry I lie. I didn't mean to lie. I did try to avoid making a
*BIG* change
to the IPO pass-ordering for now. However, when I make a minor change to
populateLTOPassManager() by separating module-pass and non-module-passes, I
saw quite a few performance difference, most of them are degradations.
Attacking
these degradations one by one in a piecemeal manner is wasting

Upgrade to 2.3.1 has failed
Aki hello, thank you. Hopefully excerpts and top posting are acceptable

On that assumption:
Thanks for the input. I've checked out your suggestions (details below)
but unfortunately no joy.
I also restored my backup 10-ssl.conf. It indeed has the "<" sign with
a space before the explicit paths to the files:

[LLVMdev] IR Passes and TargetTransformInfo: Straw Man
Andy and I briefly discussed this the other day, we have not yet got
chance to list a detailed pass order
for the pre- and post- IPO scalar optimizations.
This is wish-list in our mind:
pre-IPO: based on the ordering he propose, get rid of the inlining (or
just inline tiny func), get rid of
all loop xforms...
post-IPO: get rid of inlining, or maybe we still need it, only
