Barplot: Vertical bars with long labels
Dear List, I need a barplot with vertical bars. Each bar should have a label. The problem is, that the labels are too long, so they overlap, or only every seccond label is displayed in the output. Here is a little syntax: dd <- c(100,110,90,105,95) barplot(dd,names.arg=c('Conduct Disorders','Attention Deficit', 'Eating Disorders', 'Substance Abuse','Developmental Disorders...

Interaction plots (six on one page)
#Dear R users, #I want six interaction plots to be on one page, #but the following problem occurs: the legend "BMIakt" appears, #but it is exactly on the border of the plots (too far right). #My seccond question is, how I can reduce the empty space in the y-direction #between the plots. #Please have a look at my syntax below. #Many thanks! #Udo myData <- ("id,BMIakt, time, thanaa, thalcho, thalino, ponaa, pocho, poino 1,0,1,1.63,0.79,0.28,1.63,0.98,0.58 2,0,2,1.7,0.72,0.37,1.83,0.97,0.42 3,1,...

can't locate samba server in windows network/ can't add domain
...or leave the domain. However- I can't join the other domain- because no DNS entry exists. The strange thing is they both broadcast their NETBIOS name (It's present in the ARP table of the router) but on a windows host I can see the first server but not the second one. How can I get the seccond server to also broadcast it's netbios name to the windows hosts? Or can I bypass the whole thing by modifying the HOSTS file on the win XP hosts? Cheers, Thijs

Pagode
...an beyond, we have that variable called "passdb backend", and the command "smbd -b" show the variable SMB_PASSWD_FILE defined in the compilation. This two options are not 100% accurated. The first becouse in too many cases this option dont must exist to Samba works well. The seccond becouse when the option "passdb backend" is defined, then it give us a wrong value. Some one knows any command that shows what is the authentication way used in a Samba Server in runtime? Something like the "smbd - b" that show's it? Regards, Anahuac [1] - Pagode Scre...

Kernel panic when using wrr qd
...ks as the wrr algorithm from the implementation found at http://wipl-wrr.dkik.dk/wrr/ does not handle larger amounts of IP adresses generated in a short period of time. The tests we ran showed up that the problem lies (at 99%) in the WRR. After running the "router_killer" script in a few seccond the kernel panics. Changeing the queuing algorithm from WRR to ESFQ (in fact commenting the first line of script 1) helps - the router is able to work properly under heavy load (simulated attack). That''s how i''ve come to the conclusion that the problem lies in the WRR itself. Sou...

Asterisk room monitor
I want to use a voip speaker phone as a room monitor. Requirements: A phone that I can set to auto answer in speaker mode. A phone with a good speaker phone. Ability to make the audio one way. I want to monitor the room but not have my voice heard in the room. Yes, the mute button can accomplish this also. I have been using the SPA942's around the house (the speaker is just ok but

Shares are comming and going
...t; it <- instead of nogroup! How is it posible that 'smb.conf.nogroup' was loaded in the first place? But the strange thing is I can go to explorer at typ \\servername\it, and then I see all my files! If I'm in explorer hitting F5, then the shares are dissapearing, If I wait a few secconds (5-10sec) and hit F5 again, then they are back, If I press F5 again directly they are dissapearing again. I'm Using Debian 2.1 (2.0.36 kernel, and samba version 1.9.18p10) Any clues here? Best Regards, Ries van Twisk

Samba network shares over VPN
Hi there, I have two computers, one Windows XP other Windows 7 (actually a dozen each) which are members of a Samba domain. Users have no problem login in to the domain, running the login script to map network drives and accesssing files on them, for both computers. I want to give users remote access using a VPN (OpenVPN to be exact). The idea is to login on a disconnected computer using a

winbind joining NT4-style domain - two strange issues
...ser1:/bin/bash | | $ getent passwd SYNTH+user2 | [no output at all] ONLY user1 is found, nothing else, whatever I do (I was desperate enough to even reboot the machine, but... well, I did not expect it to help and it did not). Does anyone have a clue what is going on here? What to try next? The seccond odd thing is PAM authentication. I configured pam_winbind and tried to connect via ssh and via postgresql - using the non-mapped account of user2 in the example above. Both of them are running through exactly the same PAM configuration, but still postgrseql succeeds and ssh login fails. I had a loo...

Routing packets over multiple links (NICS) all on the same ISP all with same gateway.
...9;random: /usr/lib/iptables/libipt_random.so'' As far as i know it should be available in iptables 1.3.3 that comes with slackware 10.2. I know that trunking/bonding the 8 nics with the swicht in the complex would be the ideal solution, but first of all the isp won''t do this, and seccond im not even sure if the switch supports this (if i could even get acces to it) Some help would be greatly apreciated. _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/lartc
