Can LightDM work with an existing X server socket?
Hi all,
I'm setting up an LXC container for Ubuntu 13.10 where the X server is
started in the host on vt6. The unix socket and authority file are
then mounted in the LXC container. I can start X sessions and
applications from the container but I can't get LightDM to use this
server.
I would really like to have the container's LightDM/Ubuntu greeter to
automatically start on this

Tramo-seats
...rocedure.
Having attended the useR2004! Conference with the aim of assessing if R
ALONE could "glue" all those fragmented and isolated procedures, I'm almost
convinced now that YES it could do the job!
Now - to start with - a first problem to solve:
we have to comply with the Tramo-seats closed-source procedure (http://www.bde.es/informes/be/docs/dt0014e.pdf)
to deal with seasonality of electricity monthly time-series, in line with
the methodology officially adopted by our National Bureau of Statistics.
Searching in R-help mailing list I didn't find anything about a tramo-se...

TRAMO-SEATS confusion?
Dear R People:
When looking at the previous postings regarding TRAMO-SEATS,
I am somewhat puzzled.
Is it true that we CANNOT replicate TRAMO-SEATS because of
licensing or ownership issues, please?
If not, would anyone be interested in an R version of it, please?
Thanks,
Sincerely,

Samba 3.4.2 Trusted Domain Logon gives: "Conflicting domain portions are not supported for NETLOGON calls"

Local accounts are fine and the trust appears healthy too:

checking the trust secret via RPC calls succeeded

Rounding multinomial proportions
...ion, simply setting the last
proportion (Age10 above) as 1 minus the sum of ages 1-9. I quickly stopped
using that approach when I started seeing negative values.
After this introduction, the attached round_multinom.html should make
sense. The algorithm I ended up choosing comes from allocating seats in
elections, so I was tempted to provide that application as well, although
it makes the interface and documentation slightly more confusing.
The working title of this function was a short and catchy vote(), but I
changed it to round_multinom(), even though it's not matrix-oriented like...

TRAMO/SEATS and x12 in R
I have a Mac OS X system. To deal with a long monthly electricity demand time-series I use the procedures TRAMO/SEATS with the MS-windows only Demetra programme and X12 under R resorting to the awkward - as far as the output is concerned - x12 R package running the relating Fortran code.
I wonder if someone out there has attempted to translate TRAMO/SEATS and X12 into R native language?

TRAMO-SEATS methodology
Dear Colleagues
would someone know a suitable online-source for information
regarding the TRAMO SEATS method for time series ?
(an alternative to X12 ARIMA and earlier ARIMAs used by the US census
bureau)
Cheers

Multi-Seat using Thin Clients
Hello
I have been wanting to set up a multi-seat system built around my linux
desktop. Several years ago I set up a multi-seat system using X11. It
difficult to setup and cause many different system errors. My new
desktop supports VT-d but the VGA passthru is still too experimental for
me at this point.
I have looked at the USB display link b...

hi,
I am going to open up a call center starting with 5 and expanding to 20

FXO or any other card from digium.
If you have any document regarding setting up a call center with

is anyone using a multi-seated configuration with CentOS?

proprietary or opensource nvidia drivers.

Asterisk Hardware Requirements for a 50-100 Seat Call Center
I am looking for estimated hardware requirements for running a 50 to 100
seat call center off of a single Asterisk server.
The Asterisk server will have one quad T1 card installed (probably a
Digium TE410P) with two T1s connected. The OS is Debian GNU/Linux
(woody) with a custom 2.4.xx kernel installed. It is preferable for the
server to have a single CPU and no shared...
