CentOS 6 and luksOpen
Upgraded a RAID. Copied everything from backup. And then my manager said I had to encrypt the drive. I've done that, and made the filesystem, but I can't mount it. CentOS 6. I have the entry in /etc/crypttab, and a key in /etc/crypt.pw, and the luks UUID in /etc/fstab. I cannot find the command that tells it to create the device in /dev/mapper from the info in /etc/crypttab. Clues for

Getting hibernate to work on a new CentOS 7.2.1115 install
...yet another thing is that it's possible the initramfs isn't using resume=<hibernationimagedevice> which is currently a problem on Fedora. So you might need to add this to the grub.cfg on the kernel command line, something like resume=/dev/VG/swap or wherever it is. If it's a /dev/sdXY, i.e. on a regular partition, then use UUID. -- Chris Murphy

Can USB:syslinux install another USBstik?
...#39;s new arrangement of not allowing the tail of the sda to be free for linux installation: I've only installed linux to some USBstiks. The attempted reconstruction of the stolen original Slackware BootStik seems valid, but it has no SATA of IDE to be tested with. Apparent correctly specified sdXY give "block (0,0)" errors and invalidly tried sdXY give "block (N,M)" errors - as expected ? Can the syslinux [or a newer version] mount a USB root-partition? == TIA.

I know how to get it working on Fedora (modify /etc/default/grub and grub-instlall) or so I believe. Should I have to do the same thing on CentOS? Thanks again! -

Getting hibernate to work on a new CentOS 7.2.1115 install
Hi, I am a new CentOS user (quite familiar with Fedora 1-23+) and I decided to try a new install of CentOS on a ASUS R503U. However, I can not get hibernate to work. I try: systemctl hibenaate and I get: Failed to execute operation: sleep verb not supported Btw, the problem does not go away with super-user. I was wondering how to get around this issue. I would like the abililty to hibernate
