Root btrfs partition listed twice?
...wice with list-filesystems, inspect-os, inspect-get-roots, etc... I'm seeing
this in version 1.26, but haven't found anything directly resolving this in
newer versions.
These commands all show the partition listed twice as in the following output:
><fs> inspect-get-roots
/dev/sda2
btrfsvol:/dev/sda2/@
The output above complicates the existing virt-v2v process, as it prompts
users to select the appropriate root filesystem. (Either one works for the
conversion.) I've patched v2v to strip out the duplicate 'btrfsvol' entry if
the partition itself is in both stri...

Monitoring FS operations
Greetings All,
Without going into the specific reasons why I need to do so, is anyone
aware of a method (or tool) of watching real-time, human-readable (or
system call print) of ext3 filesystem operations on a mounted, active
filesystem?
Excuse me if this is a duplicate question but I was unable to find any
similar ones in the archives.
Thanks in advance!

Debian lenny, lvm and filesystem xfs
Hi,
I''m running Xen on a Debian Xeon E3110 using the Debian 2.6.26-2-xen kernel.
As filesystem for my lvm domU partitions I choosed xfs.
I get the following error in kern.log of domU when booting a domU:
blkfront: sda2: write barrier op failed
blkfront: sda2: barriers disabled
end_request: I/O error, dev sda2, sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev sda2, sector 0
Filesystem "sda2": Disabling barriers, trial barrier write failed
Has anybody an idea how to resolve this?
Thanks a lot

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

This is what I did:
- installed CentOS 4.4 from CDs using "expert mode"
- grub bootloader
- /dev/sda1 mounted on /boot 100M
- /dev/sda2 mounted on / 3.9G
- no swap
- server install (w/gdm)
It was suggested that I may be having an issue with USB drivers not getting installed, so I ran mkinitrd including them. I also uncompressed initrd.gz and tried to add them manually - I had no luck with either method.
Since I am by no...

Is it safe to run tune2fs -c -1 -i 0 /dev/sda2 on mounted file system
Hi,
Is it safe to run tune2fs -c -1 -i 0 /dev/sda2 on mounted file system
Basically, this is a command to disable fsck based on reboot count &
last fsck time.

While I untar a large archive on xfs , ext3 (ver 1.3 and ver 1.4) file

sometimes, on ext3 (1.3 and 1.4) the file system goes read-only while

The same tar file when untarred on a i386 machine works properly.

LiveCD System recovery - Mounting LVM?
Hi,
I am trying to recover data from my old system which had LVM. The disk had
two partitions - /dev/sda1 (boot, Linux) and /dev/sda2 (Linux LVM). I had
taken a backup of both partitions using dd.
Now I am booting of CentOS live cd for system restore. I recreated
partitions like previous system using fdisk and then used dd to dump all the
data onto it. I would like to mount sda2 as LVM, but I don't know how to do
that. Any s...

Re: libguestfs-xfs for CentOS 6
Many thanks for a quick reply,
see also
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1413499#c5
Looks like the same issue as mine. But any way - a full log of guestmount, running it with -v -x and host + VM info are attached, probably I've missed something important in the output.
Thank you!
