Fitdistr and likelihood
Hi all,
I'm using the function "fitdistr" (library MASS) to fit a distribution to
given data.
What I have to do further, is getting the log-Likelihood-Value from this
estimation.
Is there any simple possibility to realize it?
Regards, Carsten

LatencyTop
I see Intel has released a new tool. Oh, it requires some patches to
the kernel to record
latency times. Good thing people don''t mind patching their kernels, eh?
So who can write the equivalent latencytop.d the fastest? ;-)

[PATCH 1/2] canonical_device_name: Don't rewrite /dev/mdX as /dev/sdX (RHBZ#1414682).
The guestfs_canonical_device_name API was rewriting /dev/mdX as
/dev/sdX. This is wrong since (eg) /dev/sd0 is not a device name, so
if you pass the canonicalized name back to the API it will fail.
virt-v2v was one tool doing this.

Unbootable system recovery
I have just recently (physically) moved a system with 16 hard drives (for the array) and 1 OS drive; and in doing so, I needed to pull out the 16 drives so that it would be light enough for me to lift.
When I plugged the drives back in, initially, it went into a panic-reboot loop. After doing some digging, I deleted the file /etc/zfs/zpool.cache.
When I try to import the pool using the zpool

like a change in the ZFS caching behavior (i.e. caching gone!):

[PATCH REPOST 1/2] common/mlstdutils: Add return statement.
No change, just reposting without the "for discussion" tag.
I think we should allow this as it seems like a nice coding style for
a limited subset of imperative-style code.
Rich.

[PATCH 0/2] (mainly for discussion) Add ‘return’ statement.
When rewriting the heavily imperative original inspection code, I
longed for a ‘return’ statement so I could keep the new code as close
as possible to the original. OCaml of course does not have such a
statement, but it's relatively simply to implement it in the language.
The first patch does so, and the second patch rewrites a sample of the
inspection code to use it.
Rich.

nut package with Riello UPS support
Thanks for you reply.
I have installed asciidoc with "pkg_add asciidoc"
And it returns something:
# asciidoc fgh
asciidoc: FAILED: input file /root/nut/fgh missing

asciidoc
/usr/local/bin/asciidoc
Maybe there is any way to skip building man pages.
This is not the such main thing as a new devices support.
I also could built the driver that I need
# make riello_ser
but I don't
