Centos 7 and MAC address munging
Odd situation: I've mentioned before that I have several users for whom I
have to spoof the MAC address, due to a software license. Now, I've got
net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0 on the grub2 command line, and I've got the
spoofed MAC address in /etc/sysconfig/network-sctipts/ifcfg-eth0.
But he had a serious problem - X froze, and he thought to reboot, rather
than call me. It came up with the actual MAC. I tried a number of things,
including reboots, but the only thing that worked was systemctl stop
NetworkManager, ifdown eth0, then ifup eth0, then start NetworkMangle...

cPanel RoR with mySQL database
Hi,
I have just started using Ruby on Rails with cPanel. I can set up my
application ok but I am having problems with linking the application
with a mysql database.
I have run ruby sctipt/generate model and created the table through the
migration. The table appears in the database correctly.
The original settings were for sqlite3 but I want to use mysql so that
may be the issue.
I have changed the database.yml file matching with the correct db
information;

Two questions about smbldap-tools
Hi all.
1. Are they any web based interfaces to smbldap-passwd.pl?
2. Is www.idealx.org still a valid site for the smbldap-tools and
related info? When I go there, no matter the URL I enter, I get a login
screen prompting for a username and password or a message that page can
not be found on the server.
Thanks,
~Dan

W2003, domain and home dirs
...s form samba were transeferd to w2003. OK. Those users had
in theirs Profiles tab (in user preferences window): Logon folder set to
(for example): logon.bat and Home folder/Connect (for example): M and
the path to: \\samba_serwer\user_name\.profiles. And it worked.
Than I wanted to change logon sctipts to GPO specific (so removed
logon.bat form Profiles tab) and also removed home drive mapping (M: and
\\samba_serwer\user_name\.profiles) So now I don't have to fill in the
Profiles tab for every new user, and home drive mapping is setup in the
logon script:
net use M: \\samba_serwer\%UserN...

iproute create policy routes after reboot
Which files do I need to edit in order to initialize a route after a
reboot.
I have a 802.1q tagged VLAN interface which I need to create a rule, and a
route for.
I see on my CentOs 4.2 box that in /etc/iproute2 there are the following
files. I realize that I can add my tables to /etc/iproute2/rt_tables, but
when I want to create a rule I am not sure where to put the information
for the
