Did I screw up my PDC on this Terminal Services problem?
...base. Both Windows machines have "$" machine names in the samba database and /etc/passwd. Problem: the XP machine can only run a TS *.rdp program on the 2008 server if it logs in as "administrator". (I made a *.rdp out of the calculator program.) This is why I think I may has screwed up my new PDC. This is the error log on the 2008 server when a regular user tries to run the same TS *.rdp program: Oh crap, I did not get a copy of the error report. If I remember correctly, it said the user's SID was NULL. Did I screw up my PDC or is this a Terminal Services issue? Many th...

Screwed up my iptables firewall
I have a server that I screwed up iptables on. Now when the server restarts it locks up trying to apply the firewall rules. How can I remove the rules (set to all ACCEPT) in a linux rescue mode or knoppix or other way of getting to the file system? Any suggestions how to fix this? Thanks, James

wineconf screwed xp install
...... [Crying or Very sad] after i installed kubuntu 8.04 with kde4 on my pc (which already has a XP install on a different disk) i went on to configure wine with wineconf. i think i made the mistake of pointing the c: drive for wine to the real c: with the xp installation in it. point is, now xp is screwed. it boots, loads until getting a totally black screen with the pointer instead of the desktop... even in recovery mode. browsing in the windows directory i found a recent ntbtlog.txt that has countless "cant load driver XXXX"... any suggestion on how to restore the xp boot? thnx in adv...

plots: screwed up aspect ratio
This is a new problem: Old versions of R worked fine. I am not sure when it got broken. I am posting here instead of bugs in case this is not a true bug. New vanilla plots (I mean I don't fool around with par() etc) are screwed up in several ways: - the tick marks are twice as long as they should be - the gap between the end of the tick and the top of the numerical labels is twice as big as it should be - the gap between the bottom of the numerical labels and the axis label is twice as big as it should be - the aspect rat...

possible writefd_unbuffered error; what am I screwing up this time
I am trying to execute rsync manually at a "remote" server to test out --read-batch execution. I created the batch files on another server and then rcp'ed them to the "remote" server. I had some issues of not having the correct working directory on the remote system when I did an rsh "remote" rsync --read-batch ...... so I opened a telnet session on the remote

Bug with Samba ACL support or did I screw up somewhere?
...ing the ext3 filesystem on the filesystems being shared via Samba to the Windows 2000/XP boxen on the network. And I do have the winbindd daemon running and it appears to properly map domain SIDs to UNIX uids/gids. However, there seems to be an issue with the ACL support in Samba (or maybe I just screwed up the configuration somewhere). I have the following in the [global] section of the smb.conf file: create mode = 0600 map hidden = no map system = no map archive = no When I create file on a file share from a WinXP Pro box (Right Click-> New->Text Document for example), the above sett...

Realtime SIP users/peers - Screwed?
Oh heck. It really looks like realtime has been seriously screwed up. When a call comes in to Asterisk, I can see asterisk executing these queries. Fonts screwed after preview
...e showed ok, as this screenshot shows: [Image: http://i45.tinypic.com/332bj7t.png ] After the report is previewed, app fonts are changed to this (boldened): [Image: http://i46.tinypic.com/de9qia.png ] The bolder fonts aren't the only problem, if I try to re-open the report, it is completely screwed. This only happens on a specific report, the app uses many reports and I can see all ok but this one. Could it be that the report uses a font not installed on my PC?. One more thing, the report engine comes from a dll. I hope someone can help me. Regards, Mart?n.

Screwed Special Characters in an utf8 String Read From Database
...use this path from the database to look up a local file and transmit this file to the user. The problem is, that my program is not able to open any files, that contain special characters (e.g. ÄÖÜ.txt) in their path (without special characters its fine). In these cases, the path-string seems to be screwed (if I print it to the console it is "ÄÃ-ÃOE.txt"). However, when I show the pathname inside the browser, or look at it in the database (phpmyadmin), the special characters seem to be correct. I already added the "encoding: utf8" line to my database.yml file, so this shouldnt b...

Polycom screwed up Messages button in 1.4.1?
I think Polycom has added another feature that nobody wants. With MWI configured, and a phonexxx.cfg that has this: <msg msg.bypassInstantMessage="1"> <mwi msg.mwi.1.subscribe="" msg.mwi.1.callBackMode="contact" msg.mwi.1.callBack="XXX" msg.mwi.2.subscribe=...> </msg> Under 1.3.4 and earlier, the phone would immediately
