Shearing in screenshots of DirectX?
I'm trying to take screenshots of the Dawn of War game through Wine. The game runs fine and under Windows it has a built-in screenshot function that dumps a JPEG to a sub-folder. Under Wine the game never gets the print screen request because Compiz or Metacity hijack the signal first and start Gnome-Screenshot. Sometimes the...

Screenshot on FrontPage
Hi, This is to notify that I have put a screenshot on the FrontPage. It is not an exciting screenshot, just a simple default desktop with the browser opened and pointed to the wiki itself. I know I should have put it on the development wiki first and get consensus, but sadly I cannot find the development wiki (thought it was wiki-m.centos.org, but that one is not responding). If people

The usual and normal ways I know doing it is: http://www.coderholic.com/pywebshot-generate-website-thumbnails-using-python/ https://github.com/AdamN/python-webkit2png/ But then from some reason RedHat doesn't support them: gnome-python2-extras: * Thu Jul 15 2010 C...

screenshot plugin compile fails on freebsd
Hello list, there is no `versionsort' implementation in the dirent.h on standard installation of freebsd 6.x. I have replaced `versionsort' with `alphasort' in screenshot.c, but I don't know whether that fix will cause crash screenshot plugin since I have not yet ran the latest git xgl/compiz/mesa on my freebsd. -- Best regards, Denis

Many troubles in CentOS 6 since the last update of GLibc-2.12-1.149.el6
Hi all, I would like to know if these troubles affect also other people, for example, I can no longer connect to Sipe (Lync) network by Pidgin since the Glibc has been updated and now I've just discovered that it was no longer possible to take screenshots with gnome-screenshot, I always receive an error message telling: "Unable to save the screenshot to disk: Value for PNG text chunk Software cannot be converted to ISO-8859-1 encoding." -- (?- Bernard Lheureux Gestionnaire des MailingLists ML, TechML, LinuxML //\ http://www.bbsoft...

Screenshots - how to?
Hi Ok this might sound a bit dumb but I wanted to submit a screenshot for World In Conflict. This runs quite well in DX9.0c mode in WINE 1.3.5. 8) Uhmm anyway the problem is visual artefacts in the screenshots that are not present in the game (blocky colour banding, etc.). I presume it's just the keyboard printscreen button frame capture app. is catching partly drawn OpenGL frames. So how can I get clean screenshots for games running under WINE? Thanks Bob

What method would you suggest for installing the Pinta screenshot editor on CentOS 6.4?
A screenshot editor needs to do a few things - but it must do these three things easily and well: 1. Draw curved and straight arrows, dotted or solid line, with various end dots and points 2. Draw open circles of various shapes to highlight areas of interest 3. Text easily without having to pre-define a bounding box for the ad-hoc text By far, the most powerful easy-to-use freeware screenshot
