Can pagination work with caching
I am currently caching a page that indexes blog entries. Paginate was used to break the entries up. Now when you click on next at the bottom of the page it is only reloading the first page. Im hoping, against odds, that someone here knows of a way to make paginate and cache play together. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

caches_action does not go off the entire URL
I am trying to use caches_action and the agile book says that it is keyed off the URL, however it does not seem to pick up the URL parameters. http://localhost:3000/controller/action/id?foo=bar and http://localhost:3000/controller/action/id?foo=foobar Returns the same page. Anyone looked into how to add URL parameters to the cached key? Also, where do those file get stored? Thanks Dave

Problem installing Software Fax SpanDSP support into Asterisk
...truggling to figure out what when wrong and how to fix it. The problem seems to be related to two missing programs app_todd and app_sql_odbc. Some searching around with Google, I find these things seem to have existed at one time (the todd anyway). It seems that the most recent documents: http://scottstuff.net/scott/archives/000152.html Dated March 28, 2004 and the earlier lists documents: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-October/025094.html (cache), http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2004-March/041408.html (cache) and http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-u...

caching
Hi, i am pretty new at ruby on rails and such, and i was hoping someone could give me a good reference at caching. i am on my way to creating a dynamic/updating news website, and i was wondering where i could use caching to bring better performance to the application. where i would use page caching, where i would use fragmented caching, how to avoid caching-mixups when needed sql calls, etc.

Caching webservices?
Is there any way to do this? I know that you can cache controllers (described at http://scottstuff.net/blog/articles/2005/10/04/rails-caches_action_with_params), but I can''t find anything in the docs about caching web services. Thanks, Ben -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://wrath.rubyonrails.org/pipermail/rails/attachments/20060506/ad...

call forwarding when busy - single pots blues
Hello, Scottstuff.net has an example to "forward calls when busy" to a nufone 800. My telco will allow me to do this for a 5$/month charge. :( No luck duplicating Scott's example, or playing with the ChanIsAvail/cut/forward. Since everything can be done with asterisk, can anyone slap me upside the d...

Fax pass-throught.
I've already search in the mailing list and voip-wiki site but I can not find any examples in how to send a FAX through a IAX channel. I've found the fax extention setting, but this is not what I want to do. I'd like to dial from the line on the other side of the IAX channel to a fax, to cut long distance costs, and send a FAX from the source IAX channel. Like bellow:

GEM-based rails application installer
...my-app install /some/path or, without root: $ gem install -i ~/gems my-app $ ~/gems/bin/my-app install /some/path This will build a working Typo install in /some/path, using Mongrel and SQLite3 by default. These can both be changed via configuration settings; see recent articles on http://scottstuff.net for details. Here''s what you''ll need to do to add the installer to your existing Rails app: 1. Create a `.gem` that depends on `rails-app-installer`, `rails`, and all other `.gem`s that you need to have installed. 2. Add an `executable` entry to your gemspec. If your...

some notes about rails, apache, fastcgi and windows
...the one i''ve on hand ...) after roughly two weeks of efforts. i checked almost all posts and wiki entries on this subject, founding several of them somewhat discording and, unfortunately not definitive. as a matter of fact even if supposedly definitive articles do exists, such as http://scottstuff.net/blog/articles/2005/07/20/apache-tuning-for-rails-and-fastcgi if you browse through the end of it you''ll find other people still struggling with the very same issues i''m still facing, yet unresolved ... interestingly enough, i''m not even able to see typo (the rails-ba...

Convince me to buy TextMate!
I got a Powerbook recently and am debating buying TextMate. I installed the trial and have checked it out, but don''t see what''s so great about it. AFAICS it''s the Ruby and Rails macros for expansion and other stuff that might be it. Other than that, TextMate seems like a pretty basic editor. I currently use PSPad and Editplus, and I could probably get/make macros

really a GemPlugin/mongrel_cluster question
Hi folks, I''d like to run the Mongrel prerelease (0.3.13.4 prerelease) and mongrel_cluster 0.2.1 on my shared host (which doesn''t want to install prerelease software for all to use). I can install the gems in my own directory, and run mongrel 0.3.13.4 with --prefix just fine. However, I think due to the GemPlugin structure, even my new mongrel_rails loads up

memory leaks
...Rails, and not sure how to go about fixing them. When I look in the dev/production logs, I don''t see any obvious errors in my code, so what else causes them? Are there some common errors/practices in general that will cause them?
