graphics backgrounds from gray to white in png()
Hi, I'm trying to make a png file of a histogram. I would like a white background in the final product but end up producing a gray one, despite setting what I think are the correct parameters. Suggestions for how to properly set a white background would be welcome. Thanks in advance, Scot # for non-lattice > par("bg"="white") > par("bg") [1] "white" # for lattice background<-trellis.par.get("background") background$col<-"white" trellis.par.set("background",background) > trellis.par.get("bac...

FLAC: getting compression level using metaflac
Why isn't the compression level added in a metadata block by the flac encoder itself (just like the encoder version)? In this way all programs that read the file can see what compression level was used. thx 2007/7/4, Scot Thompson <scot.thompson@cox.net>: > > This has been asked many times. The answer is no. e2undel for ext3
...success and I know hwo to use it, but it seems to not be able to recover stuff on ext3. Is there a difference in the superblock structure the way ext3 unlinks files? I am sure they are there still obviously. I don't "need" these files, but I would be VERY upset to loose them. -- Scot Mc Pherson <scot@linuxfromscratch.org> http://linuxfromscratch.org/~scot/ Usenet Server Admin, IRCop, RPM Maintainer ICQ: 342949 AIM: ScotLFS MSN: behomet@earthlink.net

Silly question x64 vs i386
...boxes are all i386. As this x86_64 machine can, at most, house 4 GB of RAM (currently only has 1 GB) - is there any advantage to my running x86_64 on that machine instead of i386... Long story as to why I am asking - but before I go off and moveit down to i386 - just wanted some opinions :) Scot P. Is real-time encoding possible with ARM7 @ 66mHz?
...le. Both quality and complexity are set to 3. I am using the ADS 1.2 tool-chain which seems to optimize C pretty well. I cannot use the inline ARM assy code because the operations used are only available for the V5 and up core. I would be grateful for any thoughts or suggestions. Part II Re: read.ssd {foreign} (Reading a permanent SAS d ataset into an R data frame)
Scot, Thanks for the info. I will try your code out to verify the result, but before I do that, will your code (SAS and R) work with variable names that are longer than 8 characters long without truncating the variable name in R? Also, I wonder about using your method or the PROC EXPORT method with l...
