Samba 2.2.2 and ScopeID
Hi,
I have a client that was using a scope ID with 1.9.x and when we
upgraded to 2.2.2, the "-i" option no longer worked. I also can't find
any reference to "netbios scope" in the smb.conf man page. I noticed
smbclient still has it as an option.
I don't particularly like scope IDs, so I already know not to use
them, but what's the status of it?
Thanks.

sorry i mean dnsupdate, if i use bind9 with samba dlz dnsupdate does not
work, so i have to leave it out.
my problem is that i got 2 interfaces and still it 2 dual stack ip
addresses, the 192.168.78.0/24 is correct.
the 192.168.81.0/24 is giving 192.168.81.120 instead of 192.168.81.20.

What is 'dbsupdate' ?
I can assure you that dnsupdate does work with dlz.
I think you need to give us more info.

CentOS7 Minimal installation on Vmware missing network interface
Hi there, I'm playing with CentOS 7 (don't know if it's recommended at all
have this one as a development server as maybe is not stable enough yet)
and I installed it on a Vmware VM with two network interfaces: one as a
bridged connected directly to the physical network and replicating the
network state and the second one as a host only interface (the one I use to
manage the VM) so

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Hi Laine
What you have suggested sounds eminently reasonable. Thanks for your
advice. I'm going to give it a shot and report back.

Hey,
I have KVM installed on my Fedora 17 box. I added the network interfaces of the virtual machines to the openvswitch bridge as follows:

virbr0 is the virtual network switch
VM1 and VM2 are on the same subnet having tap interfaces vnet0 and vnet1 respectively.

Pulse Secure/Juniper Networks Network Connect (CentOS 7)
Hi,
Is anyone here using the "Network Connect" VPN software from Pulse
Secure (which was previously known as Juniper Networks Network Connect)?
I've used this successfully in the past to connect to the machines at
work from home. That was with CentOS 6, though, on CentOS 7 I can't seem
to get it to work. The software actually starts, and it also
successfully sets up a

What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Hello
I have a problem with attaching VMs to a VLAN interface.
Here is my setup: I have several physical hosts connected by a physical
switch. Each host has two NICs leading to the switch, which have been
combined into a team, team0. Each host a has a bridge br1, which has
team0 as a slave. So communication between hosts is based on the IP
address of bridge br1 on each host.

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm
what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the
other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way
around.
Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on.
So, thanks again for your help.

ANNOUNCE: cifs-utils release 4.9 available for download
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
The last release (4.8.1) was back in January. Things have been pretty
quiet but we've had a few bugs fixed since then, so it's probably time
for another release. Not a lot of major changes with this one -- mostly
just bugfixes.
The main changes since 4.8.1 are:
* Some distros (namely Fedora) are moving to having /etc/mtab be a symlink to
