can compression be safely used with SSH?
Hello.
At work we collect logs (via ssh) from all kinds of hosts on one
central node which has no connection to the internet and is tried to
kept secure.
The idea is, as you can imagine, that in case of a compromise we'd
have at least all the logs up to the break without any forgeries.
The logging is done continuously and compression is used.
Now the following is not really that much

Security suggestion concering SSH and port forwarding.
Hi,
sorry if it is the wrong approuch to suggest improvments to OpenSSH,
but here comes my suggestion:
I recently stumbled upon the scponly shell which in it's chroot:ed form is
an ideal solution when you want to share some files with people you trust
more or less.
The problem is, if you use the scponlyc as shell, port forwarding is still
allowed. This can of course be dissallowed in
