Marginal Homogeneity tests for sparse matrixes ?
...But I couldn't find in the documentation how valid the results are for sparse matrixes, and if the validity is indeed compromised (as I suspect it might be), I wasn't able to find an out-of-the-box alternative function to use. A search in google gave me a link to this article: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_udi=B6V8V-45F5P9B-5&_user=1535420&_rdoc=1&_fmt=&_orig=search&_sort=d&_docanchor=&view=c&_searchStrId=1096547725&_rerunOrigin=google&_acct=C000053610&_version=1&_urlVersion=0&_userid=1535420&md5=604554a739739d90a...

re cognizing patterns
DeaRs, i'm looking for some references on a statement as follows: "Humans are good at spotting trends and patterns in data, but they are also good at spotting those patterns where none really exist". This is not verbatim but there must be some scholarly work on this. I can't remember where I came across it - perhaps I dreamed it up? Help, anyone? Best wishes Paul -- View this

Slightly OT - use of R
I am trying to get a measure of how R compares in usage as a statistical platform compared to other software. I would guess it is the most widely used among statisticians at least by virtue of it being open source. But is there any study to which I can refer? By asking this list I am not exactly adopting a rigorous approach! Best wishes John John Logsdon

Literature analysis
Dear all, i am new in R. I am writing a review paper about batteries. However, i am interested in analyzing all the papers by keywords, author, references and year. This could be done by "refviz" a software, which is only running on windows machines and which is not free. So my question to you is, is it somehow possible to write a script that can do all of this work? And if yes, with

Execute OpenCL
Hi Alexey, Your reply has been a great help to me,your way of explain the different types of compilation is very detailed and easy to understand. Even so, I have a couple of questions. 1) What do yourefer by OpenCL RT? 2) Could you give me some examples of an open-source OpenCL implementation and update optimization pipeline? Thank you in advance. Regards El vie., 20 sept. 2019 a las 12:34,

I need arguments pro-S-PLUS and against SAS...
I need arguments pro-S-PLUS and against SAS for a meeting I will have next week. S-Plus is (90 - 99)% compatible with R, so using S-Plus will make things much easier for everyone. But I can't use this argument. What other arguments could I use? Alberto Monteiro
