Anything to replace Statistical Models in S ("the white book")?
...and programming understanding of trees and ANOVA but I'd like something that might fill in details (best way to cross-validate, missing value handling, other gotchas). Thanks for any opinions on this. Jeff ________________________________________ SpeechWorks solutions from ScanSoft. Inspired Applications, Exceptional Results. * and scansoft TTS
Hi list, Looking for a good TTS with french voice, only scansoft's realspeak seems to fill the bill (though at a high price), but I'm having a hard time trying to find technical details. More than one year ago there was a discussion about * and high quality speech synthesis, and people indeed mentionned scansoft products. So I'd like to know if...

OT: Online TTS engines?
The one I like: http://www.rhetorical.com/cgi-bin/demo.cgi is toast. I think they went broke or got aquired by someone. Also, is there a Festival voice that sounds as good as Rhetorical or the AT & T stuff? The default one is barely legible. Since Festival is a little brutal to configure, I'd like to get someone's recommendation then go through the pain of reconfiguring it only once.

Directory Permissons showing partial read-only on Windows XP
...masks for files and directory are set to 777. 3. I set the security and force security as instructed for files and directories and tried to change them via Windows and it wouldn't stick. 4. The user is setup correctly as it's only this program that won't act right. I may have to prompt ScanSoft to change their ways, but that's probably not going to happen so a fix of some sort from you guys would be great. In review: the problem is that Samba is telling Windows there is a partial read-only tag on directories and Paperport is not checking individual files for read-only status, it'...

Poll - Would you pay $30-$50 for high quality speech synthesis?
Many of you are familiar with how lousy Festival sounds. AT&T has a product, NaturalVoices, that sounds much better. There are male & female voice fonts for US/UK/Indian English, French, Spanish, and German. I am considering offering a linux-based text-to-speech engine based on the NaturalVoices runtime. An asterisk module would also be provided, making it easy to add natural sounding

Multi-line TTS Outbound Dialer
Hello, I've been lurking around the mailing list and browsing around on Asterisk-related links while I wait for my X100P to come in the mail. So far I haven't found very much information related to what I want to do with Asterisk. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of any work that may already have been done on a project similar to the one I'm trying to

Speech Recognition
Does anyone know of a speech recognition module (like say yes or no, or numbers) I guess due to the complexity of speech recognition it might just be found in commercial applications or am I wrong like always? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
