Don't have scaling_available_frequencies files
...L virtualization guide. According to Chapter 17, I have a processor without a constant Time Stamp Counter (Its an Opteron). According to that guide, I need to set the MIN_SPEED and MAX_SPEED variables in /etc/sysconfig/cpuspeed to the highest frequency show in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies I took a look at my system (CentOS 5.4) and there are no cpufreq directories in the cpu folders. Is that a problem? OT: AMD CPU actual speed....
I know this is a bit OT, but the subject of CPU speed came up here and I was (and have been for some time) curious: What is the actual speed of an AMD CPU? E.g., I have a Athlon 64 X2 "4200+" but my /proc/cpuinfo shows 1005.164 MHz for the two cores. What do those mean? Is there a reference for this (huge) discrepancy? Also, is there a way (and what) to tell what the actuall running

My personal idea for GPU scaling was similar to that of CPU scaling in appearance eventually. When you look at the cpufreq-applet

Xen 4.3.1 / Linux 3.12 panic
Hej folks, I''ve been trying to get a new machine up and running with the latest Xen for a while on a Slackware64 (current) machine. After installing Xen from source and building a new kernel with all xen options enabled I haven''t been able to get the machine to behave. The machine is a brand new dual opteron 6212 on a Supermicro H8DGi board with 64G ECC memory. Running a stock
