Irix: PRNG initialization failed
...SD and Linux do, but shouldn't this be at least usable? FWIW, consigure shows for entropy source: Builtin (timeout 200). I read a mention or two about entropy daemons and such, but I'm not sure if those should be a must to get this to run.. Any ideas what might be wrong here? -- Pekka Savola "Tell me of difficulties surmounted, Pekka.Savola at netcore.fi not those you stumble over and fall"

AllowHosts support in sshd missing.
Hello all, I just noticed that AllowHosts feature of SSH Inc's sshd isn't there in OpenSSH yet. Has anyone been working on this? Am I the only one that seems to miss this feature? AllowUsers and AllowGroups is a very nice feature though :) -- Pekka Savola "Tell me of difficulties surmounted, Pekka.Savola at netcore.fi not those you stumble over and fall"

privsep no user fatal message
...Privsep might be a bit raw in any case, at least for the portable. FWIW, I came across error message 'sshd: no user' and had to scratch my head a bit to figure out what it meant. I suggest changing the order to be more in sync with other similar code paths. ...dress 0.0.0.0 and ::, sshd will error out 'address family not supported'. However, you can work around this error by starting sshd with 'sshd -4 -6'. As far as man page is concerned, I'm getting the impression that you should be able to use only -4 or -6, not both. -- Pekka Savola "Tell me of difficulties surmounted, Netcore Oy not those you stumble over and fall" Systems. RHL OpenSSH upgrade: _new_ sshd is not started
...s not replaced. - you have to kill the old one (netstat -ltp | grep :ssh ; kill ...) first, then restart sshd. - This might happen only when performing the upgrade while connected on the system w/ ssh; not sure. However, I'm not sure which would be the best way to get around this. -- Pekka Savola "Tell me of difficulties surmounted, Pekka.Savola at netcore.fi not those you stumble over and fall"

UseLogin yes and 'w': IP address used
...I just noticed that if I enable UseLogin, IP address will be shown in 'w' when logging on. If UseLogin is disabled, the hostname will be used. Port forwarding control patch
...robably delay the release too much, but something similar should be considered for 2.5 then. A lot of people would like some control over port forwarding. exit code weirdness in fatal()
...0.0.0.0. fatal: Cannot bind any address. # echo $? 255 # ./sshd # echo $? 0 with './sshd', the same fatal message is printed to syslog. OpenSSL + OpenSSH version problems

sshd -t to test configuration file syntax?
...especially painful for update scripts etc. where you can't do e.g. 'sshd -p 2022' to see if it's okay.
