bug formatting results when using doveadm-server
Hello,
I have a infrastructure using director in front of backend servers. So
I normally run doveadm commands in director servers, not the backends.
The problem I have is when I try to concatenate commands like this:
doveadm search -S /var/run/dovecot/auth-userdb -u ${user} SAVEDSINCE 5w
| while read guid uid; do
doveadm fetch -S /var/run/dovecot/auth-userdb -u ${user}
size.physical mailbox-guid $guid uid $uid;
done
The problem is that although when I run doveadm search command in the
backend server I correctly get the list of mails, each line with the
mailbox-guid an...

Why are here ignore a simple question?
...mmand has just been added
and is not even on the wiki or man page yet.
Perhaps in the future doveadm save can provide this as output, but until
then, if you have some good known criteria about the message you have
just saved, such as Message-Id you can use that in doveadm search,
combined with savedsince, this might be reliable enough for your needs.

Some questions about mdbox
...These are my questions (a long mail):
*1? How should I restore from backup with mdbox & separate indexes?*
I have read in dovecot list archive about restoring the full user mailbox to a temp location and then run something like:
/doveadm import mdbox:/tmp/restored_mailbox/ "" savedsince 2011-01-01 / In my schema indexes and mail stores are in separated paths. What (and where!) should I copy to the temp location and how do I restore it?
*2? Disaster recovery: indexes & mail store mismatch*
When creating backups, indexes and mail store are in different paths. My backup take...

autoexpunge=30d does not works :(

autoexpunge directive for Spam mailbox (yes it's migrated from Courier 3
years ago):
namespace inbox {
prefix = INBOX.
separator = .

Gettings mails recently moved to a folder
Hello,
some spam training tools learn the same message over and over again.
Since I want to use a daily cronjob to train messages and I do not want
to have the same messages trained multiple times, I need to way to get
new messages in a folder.
Is there a (consolish) way to get a list of messages that were recently
moved to a folder? dovecot does not modify mtime, according to RFC 3501.

X-DOVECOT capabilities
...c? Then describe in Dovecot wiki page what they actually contain. Thoughts?
The current list of features are at least:
- STATUS (X-SIZE): Sum of all RFC822.SIZEs in a mailbox. (More efficient than FETCHing them.)
- STATUS (X-GUID): Show mailbox's GUID.
- SEARCH X-SAVEDBEFORE, X-SAVEDON, X-SAVEDSINCE: Search with message's saved-timestamp.
- FETCH X-SAVEDATE: Fetch message's saved-timestamp.
- SEARCH & FETCH X-GUID: Search/fetch message GUID
- SEARCH X-MAILBOX, FETCH X-MAILBOX, FETCH X-REAL-UID: With virtual mailboxes search/fetch the mail's physical mailbox name and messa...

Questiosn about dbox
Hello
I have read carefully about dbox
(/http://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat/dbox/) and I have some questions:
- One of the main advantages (speed wise) of dbox over maildir is
that index files are the only storage for message flags and keywords.
What happens when we want to recover some messages from backup? With
maildir we can rebuild message indexes, but I am not sure about
