1.6 cheatsheet
Hey has anyone seen a 1.6 cheatsheet around?
Johnathan Snook did a nice 1.5 one but I''ve been working with 1.6 for a
while and while I can use prototypejs.org, cheatsheets are handy for jogging
memories..
I checked his blog, nothing there for 1.6.

Prototype Observe Links (Mouseover)
Hi all,
I''am new to Prototype and after a 2 hours of research I didn''t find a
solution for the following question:
I have the following list:
<ul id="navi">
<li><a href="/about/">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="/about/" class="dropdown"
onmouseover="showSubnavi(this)">About</a>

A plugin inside an engine
In Rails 3, is it possible to have a plugin inside an engine?
Adding the lib dir of the plugin to autoload_paths doesn''t seem to
work.
I can manage to load it by adding that path to $: and requiring the
init.rb file, but I''m not sure that''s the correct approach.
Thanks!

Database connection parameters are tied to the filesystem
HI Guys,
I recently tried VERY hard to override the database configuration bassed on
ENV vars or actual API calls. This task is almost next to impossible.
I know that the database.yml file is parsed as ERB but that is sane for
simple ENV replacement if you want to actually change which database
adaptor it is (requires extra config/params) it becomes messy.
I found

sti_object.becomes(Parent) unexpectedly mutating the receiver
I ran into an interesting issue today with ActiveRecord''s becomes method
and discovered that it is mutating the receiver without me knowing it.
The API docs<http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveRecord/Persistence.html#method-i-becomes>say
"The new instance will share a link to the same attributes as the original

sorting divs by class
I have a script that pulls in a bunch of data to my page and parses it
out into the following format:

<div id="myID2" class="new">stuff</div>
<div id="myID3" class="read">stuff</div>

step definitons to check login
I am working with the authlogic gem and trying to create a simple login
test from cucumber features. The feature statement is:
Given the user is not logged in
The step definition for this is confounding me. In the
application_controller the authlogic tutorial recommends the following:
private
def require_user
unless current_user
store_location

CSRF protection in rails 2.3.11
Hi all,
I think CSFR protection broke in rails 2.3.11.
As in: it''s turned off now.
I tried this in rails 2.3.10 and in 2.3.11 and 2.3.11 seems broken.

now I visit /posts/new in my browser, use firebug to delete or change
the authenticity token, and submit the form.
