...rstand why no username is being passed. My mail client is Evolution 3.10.4. FYI, Dovecot does work fine using a user/password file. I'm just trying to switch it over to GSSAPI so that I can manage passwords from one system. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Ranbir -- Kanwar R.S. Sandhu

Oracle java RPM
...mended way to install Sun's java was to install from the tar.gz file because the RPM they supplied did some bad things (clobbered other files or something...can't remember the details). Is this still the case with Oracle's java RPM, or is it now safe to install? Ranbir -- Kanwar R.S. Sandhu

Adaptec 2230SLP not detected
...2230SLP would be supported in CentOS 4, especially since I've seen the card mentioned being used in RHEL 3 boxes. I'm about to give the drivers from the Adaptec site a try. If there's another solution I'm missing, I'd appreciate any pointers. Thanks, Ranbir -- Kanwar Ranbir Sandhu Systems Aligned Inc. www.systemsaligned.com

freeradius version
...lly I wouldn't care, but in this case I do because the freeradius server is going to be critical. So, should I rebuild the F10 rpm, or should I just stick with the version in CentOS 5? Based on what I'm reading, moving to a newer release would be wise. nut rpms for CenOS 4
Hello Everyone, Does anyone know where to grab RPMs for nut? Or, at the very least, a spec file that could be used to build a new one for CentOS 4? I'd much rather use apcupsd, but the UPS in question is only supported via nut. ...complete? That is, can a CentOS 5.3 system host KVM VMs or does CentOS 5.3 only support being virtualized via KVM? I ask because I installed KVM on a CentOS 5.3 host, but I can't find a kvm module anywhere in /lib/modules/* (let alone the running kernel). logwatch reports not benig emailed
Hello, I have a couple of CentOS 5 servers, and third running in a FC6 domU. I've configured postfix on those servers to not deliver any email to the local system, but to instead relay mail to an internal mail server. I also set up /etc/aliases to send all mail to root to me, ksandhu. I can send mail on the command line, and I get it at my email address, delivered to the internal mail server: great! But, every night when logwatch runs, the damned reports never make it to my mailbox. What's worse is that I can manually run logwatch (logwatch --mailto root), and I get the...

It's also leased, so instead of buying it out at the end and moving it to personal use, I just want to let it go when the lease is up. All recommendations welcome. Default printer environment variable

I know that I can create a ~/.lpoptions file and put the default printer in there, but that's not going to work with this IBM 5250 emulator. Any tips/help appreciated. Evolution forgetting read mail
...w_bug.cgi?id=273787 https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4373 It's supposedly fixed in version 2.2.1.1. I'm running Fedora Core 4 and haven't had the same issue at all, so it does indeed look to be quashed. I'd appreciate some feedback. I get the following boot trace when trying to bot a domU: Mounting proc filesystem Mounting sysfs filesystem Creating /dev Creating initial device nodes Setting up hotplug. ATI X300 on CentOS 4
...just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before. If so, is switching to the proprietary driver the only option? Is there anything else I can look at? I'm suspecting it's a driver issue, and so will shortly try the proprietary driver from ATI.
