Install gptmbr with Windows
...39;d like a solution that doesn't require me to maintain my own custom syslinux. I'm open to writing and submitting a patch to add a new flag (say -g) to install gptmbr.bin but I'd really like a solution that's more like running `cat gptmbr.bin > /dev/sdb` but on Windows. - Erik Sandberg

R-1.5.1 for MacOS X
...1.5.1 for MacOS X on my Macintosh HD by "Upgrade", but cannot find the application in my directory (or by searching). All that I can find are the sw:lib files and the several packages in my "Receipts" folder. Can anyone tell me how to access the application? Install gptmbr with Windows
...That's probably what I need to use. I was looking at the source to see how the --mbr flag works and thought that there should be a way to do the same thing with the other mbr files. Install syslinux on GPT drive with Windows
I'm trying to make a drive that can boot with both UEFI and BIOS. I've built the drive successfully on my Linux machine, but can't get the drive to build with my Windows machine. The only step that's different right now, is that I use `extlinux --install /media/drive` to install with Linux, and `syslinux.exe --install d:` to install with Windows. In fact, I can prepare a drive with

Maildir + NFS + multiple machines = spectacular failure
I'm running beta7 on two machines, with maildir on NFS. I have lockd running on all machines. I've found that Dovecot is highly unstable with NFS when accessing a mailbox on more than one machine at the same time. Both dovecot machines have: mmap_disable = yes lock_method = fcntl NFS is version 3, exported from a third linux machine. All machines are running 2.6.9 kernel. Any ideas

Strange battery power shortage on an Unitek iZi UPS 525
...o hear other opinions... 3. Somehow the newer version of nut fails to correctly read/interpret the values from the UPS and decides to shut down earlier. 4. ... any other ideas? Oh, since I no longer have the external DB9 connector for this motherboard I've resorted to a USB2Serial from "Sandberg". Apparently nut doesn't seem to care if the port is ttyS0 or ttyUSB0... PS. I've also replaced the case; can this be the reason? :-]

quota reporting and mail.app
Hi everyone. I can't get mail.app to report back correct quota information using mail.app and dovecot (though it works with courier-imap). I am looking at migrating away from courier-imap to dovecot but this issue is something I need to have resolved <somehow>. Thunderbird is fine and reports back good info on either connection. I am off to read RFCs (can't I just read the

Mailbox Hashing
First off, the website documentation is really good for Dovecot but while reading I was not able to find anything pertaining to inbox hashing for Maildirs. I saw plenty about hashing the directories that the user mailboxes live in but nothing about specifically hashing an individual user's inbox directory itself. Is there any method for hashing the inbox automatically after say 5,000

Re: mail shown throught outlook, shows todays date
...ge "Date:" even when INTERNALDATE is specified. Since "BODY.PEEK" is being called anyway, our tests didn't reveal any performance impact. Can anyone think of a scenario this would negatively impact? Another option might be to patch the APPEND function? Thanks! Install gptmbr with Windows
Thanks for all the advice! I found the mirkes.de Tiny Hexer to be extremely helpful. "dd for windows by John Newbigin" seemed like it was going to be perfect for scripting but I wasn't able to get it to write only 440 bytes (it errors if I give it any blocksize that isn't a multiple of 512). I'm thinking that I may need to write my own little utility that reads the first
