cluster service
...test boxes... wanting to do high availabilty stuff.
its working, I've added a virtual IP and a fiberchannel hosted e3fs file
system thhat either can mount, if I manually crash or reboot one, this
IP and FS mount on the other, awesome.
the servers are connected to the storage via a QLogic SANbox 5600
fiberswitch, and I've added a SANbox2 'fence device' to the cluster,
with its IP and login/password... but I don't understand how to
configure the SANbox or the fencing agent so that it knows how to map
these two servers to the zones or zonesets on the SANbox.

CentOS 4 and multi TB storage solutions
...year.
This has been working so far but this current implementation is facing
growing pains so I'm looking at more scalable options. Something that
will offer 12TB of storage and room to grow by adding more storage as
needed.
Currently the Apple Xserve RAID 7TB offerings connected to a QLogic
SANbox 5200 fibre switch looks very appealing. Especially considering
the Xserve RAIDs are listed in Red Hat's RHEL HCL and Google searches
have revealed successful RHEL & Xserve implementations .
But since this is still preliminary research having more options for
comparison would be nice. Has...

Missing SDLT600's
Hi All,
I have a CentOS5.2 server using a Qlogic QLE220 HBA, connected to
Quantum DX30 and M1800 libraries via a Qlogic SANbox 5600 switch. I've
installed the latest (v8.02.14) drivers from Qlogic for the HBA
The issue I have is I am missing 2 of the 4 SDLT drives provided by the
M1800 Library. The DX30 provides 6 drives, which are listed in dmesg
and assigned /dev/st0->5. I would expect the SDLT's to be s...

Samba and ldap referrals
...nable
a referral on the slave so that writes (ie Idmap updates) will be
referred to the master server?
I'm running debian unstable with openldap 2.4 (and libs) and Samba
3.0.30.
I know I should use the new idmap interface but this is on a production
network; I will test the new interface on a sanboxed LAN.
Cheers
Alex

centos 5 GFS/Cluster - configure fence using NIC?
How does one configure a fence device in the form of a NIC card in
centos 5? Is the gnbd item relevant to this?
I have posted the question to linux-cluster also, but they are much less
active overall, -so if you have info, massively appreciated...

Based on my observation the idmap range of SANDBOX is different from the
Windows Server even changed the range in smb.conf (1000-6999999), but on
LUMAD is the same both in Windows 7/10 and Linux. How do i reset it?

I am going to see if I can find someone in the organization with a Red Hat account to open the bug. In the meantime, I came up with a workaround. I wanted to see if I could role the updates back to CentOS 6.7 since the system was 6.7

Bug#1039422: xen: ships sysv-init script without systemd unit
...l be removed by the time Trixie
ships, so the remaining packages that ship init scripts without
systemd units will stop working.
There are various advantages to using native units, for example the
legacy generator cannot tell the different between a oneshot service
and a long running daemon. Also, sanboxing and security features
become available for services. For more information, consult the
systemd documentation:
https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemd.unit.html

Paypal and Rails
Hello everyone,
I am looking for a way to pass off a simple payment to paypal using our
own interface. I understand that this requires making full use of
Paypal''s API since we won''t be using their shopping cart or anything. I
found the article by Pranav Bihari on his site and in the Wiki on using
SOAP4R and the paypal WSDL file to interface with paypal web services,
but I
