using built-in extension numbers on the ZAP channel

but, when i dialled from the extension (legacy pbx) --> extension of
Asterisk pbx -> zaptel/zap channel -> IVR, and pressed "*0", it was invalid

remote side instead of the local side ?

Built-in Extension Numbers
There are some "extension numbers" that are built into the Zap channel
module. You may override these in your Dialplan, i.e. these are used only if
the number dialed does not match any of your Dialplan extension patterns.

ANALOG FXO ZAPTEL & WCFXO & WCTDM module issues seen with intermittent analog lines
...disconnect of the cables
to the ports is not recommended. I can replicate this condition easily, and
if other users have any trouble with their analog ports due to the fact that
their connections are flaky after some change (while asterisk is running) I
would love to know how they coped with it.

which denotes the particular channel that extension is assigned to.
I do not want to assign groups of extensions i.e., 123-A567 or 123-B567 or
123-C567 where A=ZAP, B=SIP, C=IAX2 peers respectively.

can FXS ports on TDM400P provide Battery Reversal or CPC
...ntrol Signal Detection (this is a Panasonic KX-TD1232 Super Hybrid
PBX.
My question is how would one enable Asterisk to control the TDM400P/FXS port
to provide to the /FXO CO port on the legacy PBX, support for proper answer
supervision/CPC so that it can terminate and originate calls properly ?

TDM400P + Asterisk + zaptel timer ?

crw------- 1 root root 196, 253 Jan 5 15:36 timer

so, I'm puzzled, what / where is the zaptel timer supposed to be defined ?
the TDM400P has FXO and FXS interfaces and is a Digium.

voice + data
...Why would anyone want to even look at this solution ?
Can anyone kindly post a config of how they setup a mixed voice/data trunk
and how they were able to (perhaps?) connect data time slots off of one
trunk to data time slots off of another trunk ? Say like a "digital cross
connect" ?

kewlstart - explanation of this method, please ?
...le needs to be
modified to support it..
but the discussion that I found below in
http://massis.lcs.mit.edu/archives/back.issues/recent.single.issues/V23_%23392,
seems to suggest kewlstart already having such a feature. Where can we learn
more about what kewlstart does and what / how it does it ?

Pitching Asterisk
The company I work for is looking at vendors for a PBX, one of the
requirements is VoIP. I have been sitting there listening to people
pitch very proprietary implementations of VoIP where you are locked in
to their hardware, their interface...
I know a little bit about asterisk (set up a couple offices with it...
run it at home...) and would like to pitch it to this company. Does
someone have a
