Multicore computation in Windows network: How to set up Rmpi
...on the master node. This makes me believe that the problem is likely related to R and Rmpi configuration, or the settings I used when launching Rgui using mpiexec: Settings on Mpiexec- tab: Application: "C:\Program Files\R\R-2.6.0\bin\Rgui.exe" Number of processes: 2 hosts: "akva26 samu" These are the computers with DeinoMPI installed. I am sure that someone has tried these before, and I was hoping to find such users from this mailing list. Could you kindly...

trouble with html help
...e/html/paste.html leads me to the correct page. Any views on how to fix this? I have installed 2.6.1 to another laptop without such problems, therefore I suspect that the problem would be somehow related to the settings of this particular laptop. However, I do not know where to look. Return Value of TCl/Tk window in R
Hello, I have the TCl/Tk command "tkmessageBox(titel="",message="x",icon="question",type="okcancel")" in my R script. Now I want to perform some operation in relation to the user's choice, something like "if (okpressed) xxx else yyy" What values does this command give and how are they used? Thank you, Richard -- Richard M?ller -

force glm estimates to be nonnegative
Is there a way to force certain formula parameters to be nonnegative? What I want to do is to estimate student capacity over time, namely by > capacity ~ Student + Student:Day I add this formula to a glm call and obtain negative learning slope estimates (Student:Day) in some cases. However, I don't want to allow for that. In such a case, glm should solve > capacity ~ Student and

Cannot add machine account
Hi, I'm running Samba as a PDC on a Debian Etch machine (3.0.24-6etch9). It's been some time (months, maybe 1 year) since I last added a new machine to the domain, but I'd need to do it today and I'm getting an error: #>pdbedit -a -m Woodstock-VMXP tdb_update_sam: struct samu (woodstock-vmxp$) with no RID! Unable to add machine! (does it already exist?) The machine does NOT already exist in the tdb Samba database, of course. And I already added it to the Linux system accounts as I always do. I have to say this is a new situation for me, because this is a VIRTUAL mac...

ADS not compiled in, but configure says yes
...ting '#define WITH_ADS 1' into includes/config.h and all the .c files are doing '#ifdef HAVE_ADS'. So i guess somebody got motivated to switch from one nomenclature to the other and didn't finish. need help with ordering of plots
I want to do a series of contour plots, 4 in all. The data is coming from a data frame named "nd.frame", which has elements "xdf", "ydf", "zdf", and "pndt". I am treating "pndt" as a factor, and it has four levels. I make a call to the lattice graphics routine "contourplot" like so:
