Samba 2.0.7 on BSD/OS 4.2
Alright, I give up. I'm going to go out in the parking lot and scream. Over the years I have built many, many versions of Samba on many versions of BSD[386,OS] and other unixen. I have never, ever had trouble like this (except, of course, with Irix). Never with a BSD. 4.2 ships with Samba 2.0.6 (why? -- 2.0.7 was released last April). I've been running 2.0.7 on a DEC Alpha running OSF

...ba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba>, <mailto:samba-request@lists.samba.org?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/ Most samba tools (smbd, smbstatus, ...) have an option -s to use an arbitrary smb.conf file. smbmount and smbpasswd do not. Both always use <sambadir>/lib/smb.conf. So I have to create a symbolic link. It would be nice to have such an option of smbmount and smbpasswd.
