Problem uploading printer driver in Samba 3.0.14a
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Samba server from 3.0.2a to 3.0.14a running on
Solaris 8.
I made the assumption that all my printer definitions would be retained
including driver information/files as long as the share containing all the
files was still there. Although I still see the actual printers in the
list of printers, it seems that they no longer know what drivers they use.
When I attempt to

[Solaris 9][ads] net ads testjoin error
Hello folks,
I have been able to successfully compile (MIT) kerberos (1.5.4) and
samba (3.0.28a) on a Solaris 9 (Kernel version: SunOS 5.9 Generic
122300-31 Aug 2008) host.
I was able to successfully join this host to a DEVDOMAIN
This is the smb.conf file that I used:

3.3.10 <-> AD 2008 R2 very slow
Hi again,
I changed from 3.4.5 to 3.3.10 after an AD upgrade to 2008R2 and prinitng
is working mor ore less but it is incredibly sloooow. My server has no
remarkable load so it is not due to hardware bottlenecks. Are there any
ways to 'tune' 3.3.10 or any tricks to make it faster ?
cheers

[ADS]Trust relationship 'expires'
Hi folks,
I have an issue that has me shaking my head.
Once a workstation has made the initial connection to a host, things
seem to work well for a day or so. However, if the resource hasn't been
accessed in a while, and then a connection is retried, this following
message is returned:
"\\hostname is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact

WinXP Pro can't join Domain (Samba PDC) after server migration but current domain machine are OK
Hi,
I had a Samba PDC running on unstable hardware. I migrate everything on a
new machine, I transferred all the configuration files (smb.conf, smbpasswd,
.), transferred all the users and groups. Everything was working 100% until
I had to join a new machine to Domain, WinXP Pro SP2 can't find de Domin
Controler, but all the WinXP Pro SP2 that where already in the Domain before

Does samba support fsync() a directory?
Hi, Jeremy:
> That isn't any use. We don't need to know what is going on at the
client, we need to know what is going on at the server.
I pasted the samba log here:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CaoShuFeng/paste/master/samba_log
The file I fsync()ing is called `aaa`. I can see some log about this file.
Thanks

question/problem - SAMBA server dies
...thing like this happens,
is that the server appears to quit after everyone has gone home for the
day and always has to be restarted when the users come in and are ready
to begin accessing the server.
I also do notice that extensive reporting/errors such as:
Unable to open new log file /var/adm/samba_logs: Too many open files
and here's another, which almost occurs constantly while the server is
being used ...
vfs_GetWd: vfs_getwd call failed, errno Permission denied ...
Do I need to adjust my max files?? I read something about modifying a
local.h file? I'm not familiar with this file...

Host with multiple names
Hi folks,
I'm running samba 3.0.33 on Solaris 9 hosts.
I have a host that has two hostnames (actual + alias). I would like to
be able to connect to this host via either hostname and be able to
access this samba data.
Note: I would prefer not to run multiple samba instances...
Has anyone else experienced this sort of issue, and have you been able
to resolve it?

the field ttl in struct referral doesn't work
In samba source code, the file "source\include\msdfs.h" defines a struct named referral. In this struct, there is a field named ttl which is used to decide how long should client cache referral, and this field uses constant REFERRAL_TTL(#define REFERRAL_TTL 600) as default. My problem is when i set REFERRAL_TTL to be 10, it doesn't work.

Samba print command only works on restart, help!
hey
I am running Samba 2.2.8 on FreeBSD4.8, and all is working well, except:
I have set up a virtual printer using Samba to take a print job, turn it
into a pdf and then email it back to an address, using a perl script and the
Samba print command. I have tested the script logging in as the Samba guest
user and it works fine, but when i try to print to the printer it never
works: the script is
