Samba + Active Directory
Hi, I?m having much trouble on configuring Samba to work on an Active Directory environment. Using getent password I?m able to see AD?s users. wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g also work fine. When someone from a Windows try to access my Samba server, the smd password window is shown (I think that the autehntication would be transparent, wouldn't it ?), any password I provide is rejected: I tried AD

Samba 3.0.0 RC1 on SuSE 8.2
Hello, I've tried to compile Samba 3.0.0 RC1 on a SuSE 8.2 System. samba + linux subdirectory 'other' permissions
Hi All I'm sure this is a fairly basic question out there for someone however I haven't had much luck googling for an answer hence I thought I'd try here. I'm having issues getting the correct permissions on a directory for the 'other' users. pdbedit - can't set password expiry, etc?
Hi All Have recently moved from a machine running 2.2 to a new machine running 3.0.10-1. I've just converted the smbpasswd database to tdbsam as I understand password ageing etc does not work with smbpasswd. I've set the line 'passdb backend = tdbsam' in the smb.conf, restarted the daemon and now I'm trying to force a user account to have to change his password the next time

Samba share breaks msi-install process
Hi, I need advise by someone with knowledge about the inner workings of MS Installer to explain the behavioural difference between using a Samba share and a native Windows share. I'm trying to install a (commercial) package on multiple Windows machines. This package shares several database-like files in a central directory on a central share. Using a share on a Windows XP-machine works OK
